Former Germany International, Dietmar Hamann criticised Antonio Rudiger for his excessive showboating that cost the team the maximum points against Japan.
Recall that the European giants were humbled by Japan in Qatar in their World Cup opener 2-1 on Wednesday.
Rudiger, meanwhile, showboated with Germany leading 1-0 as he used a bizarre running style to shepherd the ball out of play.
However, Hamann described the former Chelsea defender’s showboating gesture as ill-timed, ‘unprofessional’ and ‘arrogant’
“Rudiger knows he’s going to run the ball out of play and he lifts up his legs,” Hamann told RTE.
“You don’t belittle the opposition because it always comes back at some stage.
“I think it was very unprofessional. I think it was out of order. Arrogant. There’s no defence for it whatsoever.”
