Former Ghana international goalkeeper William Amamoo has advised the Black Stars on what their target should be in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Cape Coast against Nigeria.
The Black Stars will host their bitter rivals on March 25 as they look to qualify for this year’s World Cup in Qatar.
The four-time AFCON champions failed to qualify for the last edition in Russia.

And Amamoo, who played for the Black Stars between 2008 and 2010, believes a heavy win against the Eagles in the first leg, would make qualification much easier.
“Ghana must beat Nigeria heavily here in Ghana in the first leg to make the second in Nigeria a mere formality just as we did in 2014 against Egypt when we beat them 6-1 here before the second game in Cairo,” the 36-year-old goalkeeper told Accra-based radio station Top FM, monitored by ghanasoccernet.com.
The Black Stars will go into the two legged tie as underdogs, no thanks to their poor outing at this year’s AFCON.
In a group that had Morocco, Gabon and Comoros, the West African football giants crashed out in the preliminary stage.
Their exit was confirmed after a shock 3-2 loss to debutant Comoros in their final group game.
While the Eagles won all their group games before losing 1-0 to Tunisia in the round of 16.
But Amamoo posited that matches between the two giants does not follow form guide and is confident the Black Stars will edge past their Nigeria counterparts.
“Matches between Ghana and Nigeria doesn’t follow form guide and because of that I have a strong believe that Ghana will beat Nigeria.
“Ghana and Nigeria games are just like that of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko , though Kotoko were in great form, they couldn’t beat struggling Hearts and that gives me the Believe that Ghana will win on 25th by all means.”

Amamoo, how many days to the match?
A huge scoreline against Nigeria?I don’t think that would happen sorry more like a wishful thinking.
Unfortunately dude, history will not decide who edge the other in this duel rather who plays to want it more as well the form, tactics applied and team work is vital in deciding who wins.
For Nigeria there’s no such thing as home and away.We have done well playing away more than we have playing at home lately. The pressure of winning at home can be too much for the players whereas at away the pressure is more with the home team.I’m sure Nigeria will take advantage of the pressure with the home team and score a couple of goals and consolidate on that performance at home.
Ghana ll completely demolished this OVERRATED COWS who are known as the SUPER CHICKENS lol
The chickens ll come to Lagos with in my their bare skins with any feathers haha
WE LL BOKOM the chickens haha
Yadayada. Enough of all the dusts and smokes already, left us see front to read news o jare. Huffing and puffing and spitting all over the place with empty, fear-fear rants. With what players? Your coach can’t even name one yet.
By the way, I see you avoid me, I told you I will chase you way with your tail between your legs. I will knock you out with a bloodied nose and face and savagely bruised against the cold and hard concrete floor. Lol. You wan dem bamba?
“…will win on 25th by all means.”
Lol. You mean like Amartey collapsing in the box 18 to the ground like a pregnant woman hit by a bicycle when a South African player blew breeze towards him?
Baba, 25th is almost here. I remember the last time we were grouped together in WCQ in 2002, we soundly trashed you 3-0 here while you managed to escape 0-0 at home. I wonder where the “history” was then.
Current form counts always. End of story. We are number 3 in Africa, you’re outside the top 10. That’s the current form. There’s no match.
This sounds like hallucinatory day-dreaming. Mr ex-goalie, get off your high horse or the match will force your legs on the ground. Seems you don’t appreciate the current strike force of the SE. Formerly I was very liberal to predict 1-1 for the first leg, but now with this your arrogant submission, the BSs will be beaten hands down, juju or no juju.
I don’t see the Ghanian team posing any threat to super eagle …I just pray against bad luck and rainfall as these may affect d performance of super eagle..
Mr. Amamoo I ask yu questions where are your proper and genius strikers now? where, how can you beat Super Eagles as you said by all means? with refree or your soldiers? so what are all these means? Super Eagles have strong quality of players espcially on attacking side, I ask you where are your genius attacking players who properly score goals from the box or box to box strikers? SE have changed on tactics and techniques since Afcon. in Cameroon with cassical style of playing whitch will scare any team with a quaity of players on thier lines.Amamoo you dream with a warm winter, and dream like a hunger who wants to eat a loaf.
Time will Tell. Yeah you are going to See the Strkers when time Comes…..Gbam !!!!
All the bloggers here yupping and bragging ll be shock comes the match day!!

One Mallam is probably decieving him. He will soon go back to fight the Mallam, after Super Eagles humiliate them home and away.
