Otto Addo says he felt pity for the Super Eagles after the Black Stars of Ghana beat them to the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoffs on Tuesday.
The Black Stars picked the ticket after holding the Eagles to a 1-1 draw inside the Moshood Abiola stadium.
The four-time AFCON champions qualified for their fourth World Cup on the away goals rule after the first leg ended goalless in Kumasi on Friday.

And speaking after securing the ticket, Addo: “I’m really delighted, exhausted, it was a tough match and we fought our way through.
“We had big problems especially in the first half, and through some changes, the players gave their tactics very well and still they [the Nigerians] had some good chances.
“Our goalkeeper was there when we needed him and we had a little bit of luck also, because if you see the chances the Nigerians were better.
“I feel a bit pity for them but this is football, sometimes and we fought our way through.”

Luck never smiles on willingly evil people, who constantly seek their self glory only. Musa, Ighalo and all those that pushed for them to be that SE team should continue with their dreams of earning 500caps my foot. Those oppressed deserving SE players cry ultimately reached the realms of the ALPHA and may just have been fed some justice.
Ghana didn’t win, so I don’t get why se Ghanaians are barking especially that in talentless actor.
@Selfmade you are right Nigeria are not Ghana mate in football and that is purely because of Nigeria. NOT! because Ghana is stronger Nigeria is just corrupt Period!!. If Nigeria was Ghana the people would have pushed for Suley Muntari to come and play for Ghana because he did well in 2010 (Much like they were clamouring for Musa even when the signs were all on the wall). That is the mentality of Nigerians and why we fail in every hurdle once again Well done to Ghana you people are not punitive in mentality you work with your strongest at the moment!!
I told u guys here that u will need a heart absorbers in Abuja and u didn’t believed me
There it’s!!
Anytime we meet u anywhere we will beat u because we love beating the arrogant out of u and of course ….
Nigeria is QUANTITY
GHNANA IS QUALITY!!
@ Selfmade, Ghana didn’t win for your information, The aggregate was 1-1, so you have to thank mother luck that the Away goals rule is still used in Africa, the rule has been abolished by UEFA, You guys should be humble amd start preparing for the World Cup. Don’t over celebrate because if you guys crash out in the First round in Qatar, no one would remember this game in Abuja, Move on amd look ahead, unless you want to tell me that Ghana is contented with just qualification alone
A goal from goalkeeping error is better than a goal from penalty spot.even more world class keepers have conceded goals like this yet u guys want to apportion the whole blame on your keeper who saved u from defeat in the first leg encounter in Kumasi.he was adjudged the man of the match.be reminded about that.Ghana was psychologically better than your players.
SELFMADE SLAVE! U’re just full of shit! Did your black slaves team defeated Super Eagles? U were just lucky bcos of the stupid fifa away goal rule… Let’s wait and see what your team will do at the world cup, all I know is that Ghana is going to Qatar to make numbers as their Juju will not work for them in Qatar… LOL!!!
The costliest mistake the coach made was using newbies (a lot of newbies for that matter) for yesterday’s match. For a match of that magnitude and stakes, I expected the coach to rely on players who have experienced, played and delivered for the team severally in similar matches in the past. Such a match is not the best avenue to play new players who have never done that type of job severally for the team. This is because matches like that with very high stakes usually come with great anxiety, fright and pressure which can adversely affect a player’s performance.
New players are usually affected by this pressure. There are a lot of reasons for this which include amongst others….. they are yet to settle into the team, it is still a new environment, they are overly sensitive about how the fans, coaches, officials will judge their performance, will they meet up to expectations, they are yet to gel and understand their new teammates in terms of their runs, moves, predictability etc. The pressure can be so much on a new player that it can even affect his decision making and footballing abilities. This was exactly why most of the new players were among the worst players yesterday. Some of them found it hard to even do the basics like trapping the ball, passing etc.
An old player will also feel the pressure, but the difference is that after starring severally in such matches for the team, he is now used to pressure and has learnt how to play to his full potential admist pressure. This is why they are called experienced players. Not because of age, but because they have played a lot of high stake matches for the team.
It was really a team of newbies. Even Osimhen who I thought by now should be very experienced in the team having played some matches for us, showed he was not yet as experienced as I had thought. This is because, he was obviously affected by the pressure. Believe me, if Osimhen had calm head yesterday, he could have scored at least one goal from the chances he got. But he rushed all the chances and that was a sign that he wasn’t that experienced. A very experienced striker would have taken some of those chances a little slower, maybe by chesting and controlling the ball before shooting.
Before the match, I had canvassed for Iheanacho to occupy the right wing as a makeshift while Aribo plays directly behind Osimhen. I opted for Iheanacho because he is a lethal finisher and vastly experienced when it comes to Super Eagles. The plan was not for Iheanacho to play as traditional winger, which he is definitely not. The plan was for him to switch from a winger to a striker when we are attacking and switch back to a winger and help when we are defending.
But after watching the first half, at half time, it was clear, that Aribo was not doing well in his new role behind Osimhen. What I expected the coach to do at half time was to bring in Iheanacho to play behind Osimhen while Aribo drops down to defensive midfield to partner Etebo, and Dennis brought in to mount the right wing. But the coach thought otherwise and perhaps, this is the reason why we are where we are (in the voice of Osibanjo)
Congratulations to you selfmade king and all Ghanaians. You deserved your ticket and best of luck in Qatar.
Thanks bro!! Nigeria should stop underrating people tho
Don’t mind @Dr.Drey… He clamored for an inactive Ahmed Musa even. Clamored for Ighalo return… King of Arabia Penilninsula… hahaha. As game tight yesterday where Ighalo? Where Musa? Where Shehu?
People who want to earn 150caps for record… Where is Ahmed Musa and his golden mecca teeth? Can and go to Qatar… idiot wey no know say him time don pass.
Hahahahaha….where were all your Dennis this, Lookman that, Olayinka this, Chukuweze, Bonke this, Nwakali that, Bassey that and all those your egua-faiure used to prosecute his AFCON disaster and WC Calamity….??
What have they offered so far except failure
It would have been better to fail with Musa and Ighalo than fail with these ones….at least we know they will retire and go. But the fact that we are still stuck with these ones is a nightmare
Over both legs Musa and Ighalo did not even play 30 minutes combined. They must be the reasons for failing with your own….LMAOOoo. The same Musa and Ighalo were the ones the mechanic called Rohr was using to qualify for competitions effortlessly….LMAoooo
Bunch of Shameless people…LAMoooo
Maybe Musa and Ighalo are your black skinned black brained consortium of useless coaches that just poured players on the pitch to do whatever comes to their brains….LMAOooo….no tactical instructions, no directions…just give the ball to Simon…he knows what to do….LMAOooo…you simon once you get the ball express yourself and goals will start flowing like river benue……LMAoooo
osimhen would have be the one to match Musa’s All time record at the world cup….thanks to consortium of failures we have as coaches, that is almost becoming a pipe dream now….LMAOoooo
God will take your lives 40 years backwards the way your retrogressive liars united group have taken our football 40 years backwards
And Inactive Musa is 10 times better than Dennis in SE colours.
An inactive Musa still provided an Assist and earned a penalty for us when he started vs Tunisia……LMAOoo…pls what has been the contribution of your pompous and flash-in-pan Dennis since he debuted for Nigeria…?
Overrated player gassed out after 50 minutes with useless bigman football and ZERO contribution….LMAooo. Yet the useless table soccer coach rather removed Lookman who was at the heart of every meaningful forward move we managed to make….LMAooo
Ive never seen a coach so useless that does substitutions to the gallery….so that clueless fans can praise him for early substitutions…..LMAooo. The worst part is the he will pull out the best performing player on the pitch first….LMAooo
What a bunch of failures.
Musa and Igahlo are indeed the reasons Egua-failure failed once again. They played 360 minutes at AFCON and 180 minutes over both legs of the WCQ
Shut up your mouth there Mr Drey. You know nothing about football. Musa is finished. He should have left the Super Eagles long time ago. Your noise making stops here. Or else I will deal with you mercilessly.
Hahahaha Sani Abacha…useless idiot, Cheap fraud and multifaced liar…. Go and deal with your peasant father and mother first. You that knows everything about football where has your knowledge gotten us now…? Disaster, Calamity and 40 years of retrogression. See people God will punish till their 4th generation.
I didnt know it was Ahmed Musa that led our attack for 180 minutes and couldn’t score.
I didnt know it was Ahmed Musa that played on the wings, home and away and couldn’t put in 1 decent cross even at gun point
I didnt know Ahmed Musa was the midfielders that didnt sheild the defence and goalkeeper properly.
I also didnt know Ahmed Musa is the useless coach and his 9 co-failures who went into 180 minutes of football with only 1 old fashioned outdated table soccer tactic……LMAOooo
You should have carried axe to go and behead Ahmed Musa long ago. Useless fool.
Continue fooling yourself ehn…..LMAOooo
Some people’s imbecility na Grade 1. Premium quality.
Shameless big-for-nothing criminal.
It is not my habit to criticize coach but of a truth I think Eguavon was the Architect of his own failure. How on earth will a coach take to everything fans is saying. So because they asked him to drop Iheanacho and make changes by starting players like Dennis,Lookman,Bassey,Etebo and he did exactly that how clueless. How can you start majorly new players in a match of that magnitude? Lookman who was the brightest spark in attack was the one to first removed. This is what Rohr can never do no wonder he said after Nations cup that people wanted him to drop Mosses Simon during his time with Nigeria. Honestly Eguavon shot himself in the foot as for Amuneke that one na appology make him jejely go back to his Sudanese team
Hahahaha…he was dancing to the gallery of judas iscariots…..LMAOOoo. Showing them all his tactics on youtube so that they can say he is engaging with fans….LMAOooo
You that clamoured for Iheanacho to be dropped nko? How many goals did your Dennis and Lookman score? Ball no tie wrapper swallow them??? Desktop coaches everywhere lol
Hahahaha…Useless IDIOT….LMAOOooo.
Useless tribal bigot.
I guess Ahmed Musa played 180 minutes home and away against Ghana…..I guess it was Musa that told your useless Eguadiola to stick to his 4-2-4 when it was not working….I guess it was Ahmed Musa that clipped the SE’s wings for 180 minutes of football.
Was it not your computer game line up your olodo coach came to CSN to read and later adopt….???LMAOOooo….Lookman/Osimhen/Dennis yada yada yada……LMAOOoo after 90 minutes churchi apasago…….LMAOooooo
Useless fool called a team consisting of Enyeama, Taye Taiwo, Odiah, Yobo, Mikel, Oruma, Nsofor, Kanu, Okocha, Odemwigie, Obafemi Martins a less talented team because he wanted to hype his useless Eguadiola…….LMAOoooo…..Eguadiola my foot…..LMAOooo.
AFCON….Disaster
World Cup….Calamity….LMAOooo
Calvin Bassey is the new Coulibaly…..LMAoooo…the boy was pissing in his pants for 90 mins and getting bullied by Ghanians players
Dennis is the real deal….yen yen yen yen…..after 45 minutes the fake flash in the pan gassed out and became useless….LMAOooo
Ademola Lookman…this…Ademola Lookman that, we must go and lick Lookman’s anus to play for us….we must go and eat Lookman’s shit to play for us, we must go and drink Ademola’s piss to win the world cup…..LMAOooo….The poor boy was struggling to breathe after 60 minutes.
When Rohr was taking his time to introduce new players gradually to the team, they called him a fool……now we know who the real fools are…..LMAOooo. And to think Eguavoen was listening to this fools suggestions here on CSN is the most laughable part of this story….LMAOoooo
But it is Musa who barely played a combined 20 minutes out of 180 minutes over 2 legs that is at fault for our Non qualification……LMAOooo. Ewu, Senseless drunkard….LMAOooo
Better go and buy a good rope and hang yourself with it…the less of your type, and your fellow regressives we have in the world, the better the world will be.
THEY SACKED ROHR FOR $2M AND 1 YEAR’s SALARY TO AVER DISASTER……..LMAOOooooo
God don catch all of una…..LMAOoo…may your lives be taken 40 years backwards the way yall have taken our football 40 years backwards…..LMAOoooo.
May the pain of 200m Nigerians be visited on you and your seeds forever.
May your live be ridden with the type of sleeplessness all of us had to endure till now.
Bunch of devilish creatures.
The less of your type that gets created, the better for the entire human race
Hahahaha…you read with eyes closed, talk without thinking and reason without using your brains.
Look at the name very well, this is Dr.Drey not Dr. Banks. I’ve never indignified myself to respond to engage with or respond to dogs like you….having know you to have been useless for decades since the days of Kickoff.
Look at the name of whomever you are referring to properly before showing what useless family your were raised in.
Now you can crawl back to the roach infested and lightless shack you call a home.
Mind you, its shack not shank
Sorry bro lol
My bad….. am sorry, it wasn’t meant for u bro!’
One love bro
You must think these people have your time here, I’ll advice you to go the Ghana sport site and celebrate with your peers.
You switching on your computer and log on to Nigeria site should tell you something lol
It is that parrot dr dry, trying to make us look stupid with his bank and forth comment as selfmade king. When you tired let us know. I get plenty groundnut for u, just let me know your cage number so it can be delivered. Should i make it spicy too
Our Local Content Rubbish Coaches”, Ex – Internationals, Sunday Dare and NFF president who clamored for the sacked of Rohr cost us. The above mentioned people destabilized and killed the morale of the team. “ We opened our eyes wide and sacked a coach that produce results without headache” in the name of “ oh he’s not playing beautiful football, oh he’s too stiff, oh blah, blah, blah. In Nigeria, when it comes to making the right decisions we always struggle, I don’t know why.
And with all these insults here and der, what do we gain from it. I said it. I didn’t say it. What will we gain from it. Last nite was one of the worse nites of every football loving person in Nigeria and abroad, we all felt and still feel the pain but this exchange of curses and fight will not take us anywhere. It’s now clear that this forum can contribute one way or d other by stating how we feel and expecting the officials to read and know how we feel, so why can’t we use it to our good. We can debate on ways forward, constructive debates on who we want to take over SE. Some of us here want foreign coach, while some want a local coach, so why don’t we fight over that with facts. We on this platform can help if not push to fix d crazy things Going on at dat glass house NFF. We all were right and wrong, the question is who next should take over? We can start putting list of names here and we all deliberate on them without insults . Na we dey carry d pain, those football admins dont care bcs dey are after money., pls no fighting or name calling. All we asked was take us to world cup, so we can at least enjoy football but what do we get, heartbreak. Enough guys pls no more name calling d pain is enough .
Honestly what we need is ball playing midfielders that can unlock defenses not etebo or onyeka, but the coach would have looked out for dedicated and strong midfielders that can unlock defenses with passes no matter where they play even if they play in Tanzanian league let them come and play so that osimeh can see passes to score and this is our problem, I always say that we need foreign coach that can read and implement tactics not playing stars without pattern.
All we need now is good midfielders only the team is good and a sound coach that can implement tactics then we can smile again.
If you watch those two matches against Ghana no passes that can create chances was made and no good midfielder that can hold the ball and spray good passes or move to see vision and make pass to the attacker so how do we score.
We have all attackers that can score but no passes to score so it will be useless running UP front.
I rest my case
CONGRATULATIONS GHANA
May God bless you bro.we need good midfielders and good goalkeeper which I believed a good couch will give us.
Ghana qualified on away goals rule. They didn’t play better. Nigeria had more shots at goal and if not for the goal keeping error, Ghana never threatened.
Ghana qualified because Nigeria was bad not because they were great. Comoros will still beat this team if they play again. Nigeria lost it in the first leg
U still talking right?
U ll beat u every time we feel like!!
We ll continue to beat u till u stop talking for once
We ll continue to punish u till u realized that Ghana isn’t ur mate in football!!
We like meeting u because u have been our WIVES for ages and it ain’t stopping now
I told u, we ll take u to the UNIVERSITY OF FOOTBALL DERBY and there it’s!
Common Ghana, common Ghana but Ghana not be ur mate in football
Ghana Nigeria was a draw, they didn’t beat the super eagles.
They won on some absurd unfair FIFA away goals rules, but technically it was 1-1 so stop making a nuisance of yourself on here!
I don’t even blame because u didn’t have light to watch the match lol
Stop listening to radio commentary
Because the rule didn’t go in the way of nigeria, some bunch of off-minded thinking imbeciles think the away goal rule is archaic and absurd.wud u speak same way if it had gone in favor of Nigeria?,hell no.ghana were simply the better side and the side prevail at the end of the day.did any one ask Naija not to score in Ghana?u could’t score in a forty thousand seater stadium yet u wanna badmouth someone scoring in a tensed and violent and volatile sixty thousand capacity stadium.
That number 18 Jersey guy should never be called to the SE again. He is a very useless and sluggish player and I wonder why Eguavoen will bench Zaidu Sanusi or even Jamilu Collins for such a liability to the team. His wing was really explored by the black stars player and yet he played for 90 minutes. What should we call that?, Perhaps they were marketing him ko.
This self made of a fool is a very senseless fool. What was the scoreline? You know it very well if the match was decided on statistics nigeria beat you guys hands down, how many chances did your mumu team have in the match, both first leg and second leg. You coach even admitted that we were better than you guys do why have you decided to be foolish. You Ghanaians know it that you can’t compare yourselves to nigerians on any level, sport or intellect so what’s this fool talking about. Even with bad government, and corruption we are still better. We were just unfortunate to have a bad coach who was apointed out of corruption. If they had stuck with rohr your team wouldnt have stood a chance against the super eagles.
Another stupid BOKOM mugu lol
Am suspecting u are one of those rogue and vagabond idiots that invaded the abuja pitch lol
Very soon the Naija police ll come for ur ASHY, hairy ass and we ll see if u have real BALLS between ur stupid thighs haha
I want to ask a question from football fans if it is possible for NFF to be privatize. I observed anything being run by Gouvernements or being funded by government does not improve or succeed in Nigeria. Like music industry being orchestrated by individuals without government intervention is arguably the best in Africa and second only to USA music industry in the world . The moment its privatize then the hands of these useless Northerners will no longer be there and their useless stooges from the southern part too will be completely eradicated . Imagine a game you badly needed that clueless coach brought in Musa and Sheu so that if all went bad he can appeal to those clueless cabals from the North . The moment Sheu came in i knew Nigeria would lose that game.
The way forward is for privatizing the NFF as intelligent people with business like minded can come in and make it what it should be
@Selfmade, you are an Idiot, don’t you know that as your county has luckily qualifed for the World Cup,. You shouldould have been humble so that All Africans would support you. Now you are here creating enemies for your country. You are very stupid and irresponsible. Real Ghanaians would be so ashamed of you. Now the battle line is drawn, World Cup is just months away, let’s see how you will fare, I am seeing 3 losses, truth be told, of all the 5 African teams going to the World Cup, your team is the worst, Go and improve your team, leave the this Nigerian site alone.idiot.
We don’t need ur stupid support haha
There are 30 million Ghanaians ready to die for the only GOLD COAST lol
Bye u big fart
MY FELLOW NIGERIAN, LET US PRAY THAT GOD SHOULD DIRECT US A BETTER LEADERS. WHAT I NOTICED ABOUT NIGERIANS IS THAT WE ARE THE SAME. WE KEEP DOING THE SAME THING WITHOUT RESULT. WE REALLY NEED TO EDUCAT OUR MINDS, RESSET OUR THINKING FOR A BETTER EFFICIENCY. OUR PROBLEM IN NIGERIA IS TO LEARN HOW TO TALK OR SPEAK GOOD GRAMMER OR ENGLISH WITHOUT TAKING ACTIONS. OUR MAJOR PROBLEM AS A PEOPLE IS THAT WE ALWAYS FAIL TO SUSTAIN OUR PROGRESS AS A RESULT OF NOT PUTTING HARD WORK IN IT. CAN ANY ONCE STILL REMEMBER THE PROMISES AMAJU PINICK MADE BEFORE HE ENTER INTO OFFICE.
1. REGULAR REFRESHER COURSES FOR OUR LOCAL COACHES, ESPECIALLY GOING ON INTERNSHIP AT VERIOUS ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE.
2. UPGRADING OF OUR LOCAL LEAGUE UPTO STANDERED JUS LIKE FORIEGN LEAGUE.
3. DEVELOPING OUR YOUTH SYSTEM BY ENSURING THAT THEY ARE PROPERLY GUIDED FOR A BLOSOM CARIER, INCLUDING CREATION OF YOUTH LEAGUE.
4. TRANING AND RETRAINING OF OUR REFEREES BY SENDING THEM TO UK EVERY YEAR TO STUDY HOW TO OFFICIATE ON LEAGUE MATCHES.
5. CREATION OF CONSORTUM OF EX-INTERNATIONALS TO FORM A TECHNICAL STUDY GROUP THAT WILL BE INCHARGE IN DEVELOPING AND CHAMPIONING OF IDEAS THAT WILL HELP IN CREATING AND DEVELOPING ONE PARTTERN OF FOOTBALL FOR NIGERIA.
UPON ALL THIS CREATING ALL THIS IDEAS WITHOUT A FOLLOW UP PLAN LINE OF ACTIONS TO BLOSSOM. WE DEFINITLY GOING TO FAIL WOEFULLY IN EVERY SECTORS OF OUR FOOTBAL.HAVE THOUGHT OF THE REASON WHY THINGS HAS NEVER IMROVED FOR NIGERIA.OUR LEADERS WILL ALWAYS PROMISE US THAT THEY WILL BRING HEAVEN TO US, BUT IN THE END, HELL FIRE IS WHAT THEY WILL DEFINITLY LEFT US WITH.

I am commenting here for the first time after the loss.
@Ugo, I wonder why you keep on mentioning Musa. Did he play any part in the games. If he was not invited who is the big player that would have taken his place to save eagles the day. Common, stop speaking like a Ghanaian and like @Selfmade king who does not deserve anyone response from responsible people.
@Dr. DREY ehen are you going to stop this Rohr this Rohr that issue. Common move on. When rohr was there we struggled too. This is not a rohr issue. Sometimes, you need to just move on. You talk as if rohr is the best thing that has ever happened to Nigeria. Common that’s not right. He was never the best thing. He was good but he became heady too. Let’s move on. That’s the stuff of champions.
Look my next comment is not in response to Selfmade king or self made pauper or whatever he called himslef. I don’t respond to evil comments. I am too big for that.
Eagles were better in both legs. Ghana was lucky. That’s football. It’s the turn of Ghana today, it will be the turn if Nigeria tomorrow.
That Ghana team really need to do a lot of work to win one match at the world cup. Well let’s wait till then. I wish them all the best. They are our African brothers. We have also denied them world cup places before. So Ghana, congrats. I wish you all the best.
On eagles, this team lacks true leaders and special players on the field. I have said it before. Every great team usually have these special players. Players who can turn it around when the heat is hottest.
That happened in the first leg and secind leg. Can you believe Moses losing that opportunity in tge first leg. Evwn n the second leg, Dennis had a free header, special players will bury that.
Aghanhowa, kanu, Victor Moses okocha, Rasheed yekinini, amuneke etc were special players who popped on to do the magic when thebhera is hottest. We don’t have that yet with this team.
I really taught Samuel kalu was goin to be that. He did something like that during qualifying matches for a past nations cup. Why he lost form is very painful. He came on board and we didn’t miss Victor Moses for sometime. It was when he lost form that we began to call for Victor Moses. At afcon in 2019, he was off form and I believe the reason we lost in the semi final.
I taught iwobi will also be one. He came board and was doin some special things for us. But he is also off form now for eagles.
On oshimen, I may be wrong with this, please correct me, has he really scored a special goal for us before. Please correct me. I mean that type save us the day goal created from nowhere like Rasheed yekinini used to do. Like aghanhowa used to do. I don’t think so.
The matches against Ghana present that opportunity for a special player to do the magic. Nigeria vs Cameroon in one oast afcon, okocha scored a free kick and kanu gave the best pass in that tournament to utaka to score a winning goal.
Oshimen will improve and he can become one. I believe the coach comes in here. He needs a coach that will turn him into that. I believe he should begin to use more of brain than power. Those Ghanaians were no match for him but he didn’t use his brain more. He was just falling in the first leg. He should be converting half chances for us.
We need a good coach. We need a good coach to bring the best out of these crop of players. To me they are still average overrated players. They can improve anyway. They can become better.
How NFF handle who coach this team will determine whether we make good use of these crop of players. They may just pass away as a wasted generation.
