Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has included Captain Ahmed Musa, deputy captain William Ekong, goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and forward Victor Osimhen in a 24-man list for this month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying battles with Benin Republic and Lesotho.
Nigeria, top of the Group E log with eight points (one ahead of Benin Republic and five more than third-placed Sierra Leone), tackle the Squirrels away at the Stade Charles de Gaulle in Porto Novo on Saturday, 27th March and will lock horns with the Crocodiles of Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos three days later. Both are the concluding games of the qualifying series.
Also included are Enyimba FC goalkeeper John Noble, defenders Leon Balogun, Kenneth Omeruo and Olaoluwa Aina, midfielders Oghenekaro Etebo and Joseph Ayodele-Aribo, and forwards Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze.
The versatile Abdullahi Shehu is listed as a midfielder this time and there is a first senior call for Spain –based forward Sadiq Umar.

Seven players, including long –time goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, are on standby.
Rohr, who has steered Nigeria to qualifying for two major tournaments (2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations) with a game to spare, countenance even better accomplishment this time, as the Eagles could earn a ticket to the finals in Cameroon before kick-off in Porto Novo, should Lesotho and Sierra Leone end their encounter in Maseru in a stalemate. The result would be known before kick-off in Porto Novo.

Nothing to complain about this list. Now let the debates begin. I’m particularly happy that Michael Olise has committed to Nigeria. I guess Ejaria and Lookman paper work is yet to be completed. And I’m so glad Sadiq Umar is called up to the SuperEagles for the first time.
I share in your thought…
9ce list….
Sodiq Umar will definitely grab this opportunity with both hands….
With this; when next ONUACHU is given a chance, watch what he will do….
Just mark my word…
One love @Ayphillydegreat….

While I agree with your point, I think I have issues with Musa’s invitation. He is clubless and has been redundant for close to 6 months. This culture should not be promoted in our sport. I understand that he is our captain but he is clubless for now and that’s enough reason he should at least be on the waiting list.
What does Paul Onuachu have to do to get invited? Excellence has no place in Rohr’s lexicon. He certainly is succumbing to political pressures
Paul Onuachu is on the standby list. I think that’s where he belongs for now. Scoring goals in Belgium is different from the SuperEagles and the AFCON qualifiers. He hasn’t been really convincing in a SuperEagles Jersey. Sadiq Umar may be that guy. Let him have his chance too and see how he handle the pressure of international football.
What a 9ce and well articullated answer @Ayphyllidegreat….
3 gbosa for u there….
Honestly I am surprised that Paul was not the first name on the list of forwards. Its the coach that failed not Paul. A coach that cannot workout a formation to benefit from the form of the this sticker who has shown that he is the best striker not just in Nigeria but the whole of the African continent. It is a shame that they are still defending a coach who will invite a player who has not tasted any action since last year November just because he is the captain and put the like of Mofi and Olise on the standby. For goodness sake if Olise has agreed to represent us and its eligible to play why not bring him in and cap him. We are watching him
@Ugwudede.
Thankiu sir;
my brother do u know that ONUACH is not the only striker in nigeria?
So let’s try another person biko.
Let’s see what his fellow tall & lanky SODIQ UMAR will add to the team…. (ONUACHU has 25goals and SODIQ has 22goals).
Afterall SE is not anybody’s family property…. It’s for all faithful, sincere & meaningful Nigerians which i strongly believe u are one.
:::SHALOM:::
I guess no crime in trying another person, he was given his chance but he could not utilize it
So the saying goes thus; a lizard in African can’t become a crocodile in America. aul was invited to Super Eagles in the first place on the basis of merit as far as I am concern. He did everything thing to merit it. Before his first invite, he was playing and banging goals in Denmark, his level then provoked the first call to SE. When he came, he showed a glimpse of what he is made of but later hibernated. A goal poacher is a goal poacher any time any day. Paul left Denmark for Belgium and he immediately set the league on fire by scoring goals day in day out. You will agree with me that Paul has played at least under three different coaches and environments. If under two different coaches and environments he did what he knows how to be best well, I think we should give it to him. For me, I think the main challenge is with the coach and not the player. Paul is a great guy. I love African proverbs. One says, only a lazy workman will blame his tool. Rhor is not doing well as far as I am concerned.
The present coach was his coach in Denmark. It was after his arrival that Paul started to do well. For the record,Owobikiri,Akpoborie and Mike Obiku painted Europe with goals but couldn’t make the SE team of class 94.Team chemistry matters a lot.
Waow I never believed my beloved Ayphilly would say that. But anyway i personally think Onuachu should be in for either Musa or Iheanacho. I dont think Iheanacho at this moment has the firepower of an Onuachu at least for now. However am happy that Michael Olise and Umar are within the radar. I have strong feelings that Lookmans paper work is not yet through thats why hes not invited bcos on current form I dont think Rorh would overlook such a player. Hoping Maja gets more on the scoring sheet too. I like his game for Fulham so far but I think we have better materials for now.
Paul has failed to take his chances dude and has proved over time the national team is not his thing.Besides Sadiq Umar has done just as good as Paul in Europe,so let’s try someone else rather than continue with a player that has contributed nothing to our attack for over two years.
I knew it this proves that Rohr has no control over this team. This list was supposed to be released last week, the fact Musa is in the squad is what caused the delay. I am sure Rohr was against Musa’s inclusion in the squad, due to his comments in the media week before last about Musa but, NFF and Alhaji crones vetoed his decision
Fallacy pls come out with evidence if not stop saying what u dont know
come up with your own list lets see. The same goes to everybody complaining
i know it’s not easy to come up with the list looking at the array of players we have who are doing very well in their respective clubs home and abroad. Well done GR…but, i wish you have included Josh Maja in the list if not among the 21, atleast let Him be among the stand-by list. a very good inside box player.
Finally, Rohr has spoken. We have enough men to do the job here. However we look at it, some will be picked and some will be left out.
So let the debate begin, what is your take.
I’m happy for the enyimba guy,he deserves it,I would have preferred onuachu in place of Musa but due to his performance for the eagles,it’s difficult to make a case for him.musa should not be in the team for now, rohr has taken 100 steps backward for this singular act,we thought that his selections have been based on players performance for clubside, but it shows that there is either a quota system thing going on or he has started behaving like our local coaches collecting EGUNJE.is he there to motivate the players,is he a coach?Musa is not even a vocal person and doesn’t even have the charisma of a captain.how is Collins still a super eagle player? Someone who doesn’t play regular football for second division side, ajayi wey dem dey beat every weekend is still there ,he is no longer playing for westbrom self.shehu still continue to make the team,a player that contributes nothing ,in thier places,I would have called up people like ejuke, anaemena ,awoniyi to join the team.i will see how they will fair against Benin at away.
Hello can someone explain to me why Onuachi on standby and Ahmed Miss on the team list. So you don’t need to be active in your club side before you can be invited to the team. Ahmed Musa,Abdullahi Shehu inclusion in the squad is questionable. Coach Rohr is at it again this has never happened in our national team history.
Good list. Sadiq Umar is a good player and should be brought on in the second-half. Benin Republic plays a physical football and he would likely be brought down in the 18-yard box for a penalty.
I will say that Genort Rohr tried a little bit in this list, my only observation is the invitation of Collins when we have aina and sanusi to fill up the position.
Exclusion of Collins and invitation of my boy Olise would have made my day!
Our captain Musa in my humble opinion I don’t think he deserves the invitation because it’s been long he plays the game, though I have so much respect for him and wouldn’t be so much angry about him.
By the way what’s Fifa waiting before they clear lookman to play for us?
The first chapter is gone the next is the tactics the gaffer will deploy that day.
Where is Ademola lookman? That guy is the main thing missing on that list !!!
@Samuel you are quite right… Ahmed Musa is occupying his space in that list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Inactive player will make us dissapoint a very good young player….Rohr has shown that he has no backbone with this singular act….I’m normally in support of him but this makes no sense. No national team coach does that. Even the most crucial players have been omitted for being inactive…. the coming months will tell alot.
Very strong list no doubt this squad can defeat any team it’s confront, but for me victor osimhen should not have been in that list, his club needs him more than Nigeria now it’s should have been Paul onuachu for victor osimhen, josh maja in the standby list
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
He who laugh last laugh best….
MUSA u are welcome….
Ur humble and philantropic work for your fatherland can never go unnotice….
It is paying off….
U became captain against all odds even when a supporsed personality was there…
They ask u to hand over the captain band to mikel and u HUMBLY and RESPECTFULLY did it.(a hard decision though)…
U are our world cup hero anytime anyday… 4 world cup goals in 2 appearances is never a fluke….
We the real SE fan respect ur presence in the team….
Humbly serve your fatherland and u will never go unrewarded; AMEN.
:::SHALOM:::
@UBFE Your laugh is based on what EXACTLY????? that they are trying to jeopardise our national team. So you find amusement in unjust and undeserving act in life. shows your mentality.
So because you said Musa will be included last week which we all knew is a likely possibility knowing the mentality of this coach but didn’t want to believe that the coach could be that biased and contradicting to his own statement. You find amusement in it because you can say you “were right” even if his inclusion in nonbeneficial to the team and causes the likes of Lookman Ademola to be overlooked.
Maybe you will also find amusement when he choses England like Tosin oh wait you will start hailing curses on his life. forgetting that your God Musa and Rohr are to blame.
OLODO!!!!!! Mediocre brains and minds are the reason Nigeria is in the state it is in. in all aspects of Life
@Ugo Iwunze
My lovely brother there’s one thing we fail to understand as per this current crop of players.
Musa is a well known name in africa & the world at large. His presence in our team will definitely make our opponent to show us some respect especially when they remember his exploit at the previous 2 WC how he wrecked havoc against our opponent and ROHR knows this.
Having musa on the pitch is synonimous to Ghana having GYAN on the pitch.
Against S.Africa at Afcon immediate Musa was sub out, our attack crumbled & the s.africans gathered the momentum & force their way & equalise b4 EKONG scored the winning goal.
Against S/leone we all saw what happened. Immediately Musa was taken off, the unthinkable happened & we became a laughing stock.
No good coach will ignore Musa’s experience of playing for SE for the past 11 years.
We need a leader that knows how things are done in nigeria.
What if Musa scores the winning goal?
Brother pls let’s accept this list in peace & move on thankiu.
:::SHALOM::::
@UBFE it is today I know you are one biased roadside viewing centre watching football commentator… Why don’t you open your big mouth and shout top 5 league untop Musa case as you always do with Peter Olayinka and Junior Ajayi now? I can see your boss @Dr.Drey is hiding his head somewhere under a tiny crack in a rock in mambilla mountain as there is no more logic to use in applauding Rohr for inviting a clubless player while those active and doing well in Europa (Olayinka) and topping goals chart(Onuachu) are on uselessly inconsequential standby list… Standby for what really? When we shoot turncoat Super Eagles fans here they say we are not eschewing decorum… invite a potential gameboy Olise, whom we have been trying to sway and cap and dump him idiotic standby list. Let them continue… the whole thing about who plays for Super Eagles is all politics… This is the time to approach the likes of Tomori and Adarabioyo again and press home our seriousness not calling up dead defenders in division 2… The foreign borns know Super Eagles has no merit that’s why they will keep preferring even a single cap with England than come back to the stupidity we run as senior national team… You cannot give Anthony Nwaekeme 2 caps with Super Eagles but you will invite a clubless docile individual just for being captain… Gernot Rohr is an old good-for-nothing crook…
On point on that Anthony Nwakaeme
@Ugo, everyone wants to see Lookman and Olise play for the Eagles but sources have it that NFF and Rorh do not wanna risk FIFA/CAF bans by fielding an ineligible player. Lookman’s switch we hear isn’t tru yet and wrt Olise, there is news in some quarters that there still remains some grey admin areas to sort out which it is believed could happen b4 the game, hence the reason for putting him on standby. Also, lemme reiterate here that no country i repeat no country just jettisons his national team captain and most capped bcos of club inactivity, even if it is to boost morale of the younger folks in camp i do not sincerely think it is outta place.#myopinion
God bless Nigeria
This lad will really be a quality addition to the Super Eagles if and when he gets to play and adapt to the African terrain. At age 19, he’s such a bundle of talent both for the now and the future.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/meet-michael-olise-wonderkid-whos-23328374.amp
Is the super eagle a platform for philanthropy. Musa has never been inspiring as a captain because he does not have the attribute of a captain. That captaincy was supposed to be given to Omeruo after Mikel because (1) Omeruo is older than Musa in the team, (2) Omerue has all the characteristics of a good captain. Musa’s invitation this time shows that the coach is as corrupt as the socalled local coaches that you guys have always vilified, he invited Musa to see if he can use the national team as a platform to re lunch himself to get a club if a club as lowly as Westbrom see him not good enough. His stock has fallen and should be allowed to revive his game before nations team duty again
@Ugwudede How on earth is Omeruo older than Musa in the team. Nothing is more farther from the truth than that. Musa joined the Super Eagles before 2010 World cup but couldn’t make the world cup squad because of injury. He has been active in Super Eagles from 2010 till date. While Omeruo joined the Super Eagles before Afcon 2013, So Musa and Omeruo no be mate for Super Eagles
If you say he should not be called up, you may be right but don’t distort the facts to prove your point
@Ugwudede.
I’ll counter your number one point only.
MUSA started playing for nigeria in 2010 after our disgraceful outing at the world cup. I still remember when he was given a jersey that almost swallowed his 2 hands(LOL)….
OMERUO came into the SE fold in 2013 after a steller performance in 2009 U17 WC which they narrowly lost to swtzerland in the final. He played alongside MUSA, ENVOH, KAYODE, SANI, SUSWAM TERNA, SHEHU, AJAGUN etc in 2011 U20 WC where a french team lead by LACAZADE & KAKUTA single handedly sent us packing in the q/final.
With this point i think MUSA is the oldest serving SE player and deserves the captaincy armband.
:::::SHALOM:::::
I think corruption is not the issue here. Rohr don’t have the balls like Westerhof or Keshi,I think he caved in to pressure of those who want there quota to be intact, after all they rule and own the country. Those of us making noise online if we have been making them in real life since Nigeria started decaying and now decomposing,Rohr will have the confidence that there are true fearless patriots of the country who can defend him. If Musa or Collins should call their Emir and the Emir gives order for him to be sacked who amongst us will save his job.Our making noise here will change nothing,Let’s making the noise that will change the country.
Good list…we only need rugged players to do the job in Benin and come home n trash Lesotho. In Benin,no fancy soccer.
2014 world cup no body surpotted Musa invitation, 2018 world cup what is Musa doing inthe team, even nations cup, But in all this competitions he has turned out to be one of the best in the team. He do not need to play 90 minites, 45 minites is even too much but a player of his caliber if given 15minites may be the messiah of the day
Collins? Musa? Sehu?…No moffi, but you called club less man?? If olise has agreed to play for Nigeria, why not invite him and cap tie him?…this singular of calling musa will unstable this team in future..
As for me the 2 names, I really wanted to see in the list is Umar Sadiqu and Ademola Lookman. Well I’m happy to see Sadiqu made the list but not so happy to see Ademola didn’t make it. I will like to know if his transfer is sill not complete or he has passport issues.
I’m also a bit surprised Victor made the list, I thought he would be left out to focus on his club more to avoid any other injury or other distractions. At the same time it also good to have our highest goal scorer in the squad.
Then Semi Ajayi in my opinion is some how lucky to be there if Olise is available for the Super Eagles.
We can still see a little of the Sports Ministry Home based content. Nothing to worry about.
In All not a bad list. Should do the job home and away. Hope all remain fit and fired up for the last lap of qualifiers.
Happy Tyronne and Ndidi are back and Akpoguma is dropped. Not happy Olise and Terem are on standby. I hope Lookman too is certified to play for us soon. He’ll be the real deal.
Not happy Ejuke and Maja are not on this list. Don’t know what Ajayi is doing in that set up though, hope he doesn’t play. Yes, Onuachu should be on standby, and not on the main list. He should adapt to the team’s play.
Moses Simon, Rohr’s beloved son. I hope someday he gives more minutes to people like Olayinka and Maja to truly show what they can do, as he’s given adequate chance to Paul.
Just 2 changes to the team. Big number 9, sadiq umar taking paul onuachu’s spot on the team and mr nobble (dont know him) taking akpeyi’s place. All the other players have played for the team before.
Its really sad for onuachu with all the goals he has scored this season, personally I wont pick him in my team ahead of any of the strikers we have but there are some games where he can be useful to a team with his height. But i guess coach rohr isnt willing to change his style of play for anybody.
The players list is good, I still feel some players shouldn’t be there but we cant have it all our way. Lets work with what we have for now and after the two games we can evaluate the team selection once again.
Has olise really declared for Nigeria, seems so with his name on the waiting list. If that is the case he should have been in the main team so we can cap him as soon as possible. But lets see how it goes.
Good list,I hope the players stay healthy.
I reckon Michael Olise is on standby due to passport issue. It seems he is yet to be issued a Nigerian passport.
Meanwhile,Peter Olayinka should on merit be in the team ahead of Ahmed Musa.I understand why Musa is on the list. His experience garnered over years of success with the national team but football and sentiment shouldn’t go the same path.Musa is a big game player and the coach trust him to deliver and lead the team to success but I still don’t agree to this decision.
In most top footballing country Musa will not play until he finds a good club and play to a level deserving of invitation. That is standard and that is how it should be.
I feel sorry for Olayinka who has had a great season in the Czech league as well Europe. His team is on the verge to be crowned league champion and are involved in the Europa league where they are due to fight for a place in the semi final.
Olayinka has been an active member of his European team.I saw the game his team played against Leicester and it won’t be out of place for Olayinka to be a part of this super eagles, judging by what he has done this season in Europe as well previous seasons.Placing him on standby is absolutely wrong and I believe he would feel hard done by I’m sure he will.
When I look at this list I think that the Super Eagles can build a really strong team from these players. We have good players in alnost all departments of the team. But My worry is the defense. We have good full backs given, but our central defence isnt that impressive anymore. Leon is on his way out of top level football, ekong is playing second division football, Ajayi is well Ajayi and Awaziem is no better. I hope in the coming months we can scout for some very good central defenders or convince some to play for Nigeria so we can have a formidable central defence pairing for the nations and world cup.
Decent list, I have a problem with the midfield though, probably feel Olise and Onyeka should be there and not shehu Abdullahi and Musa out for Ejuke.
I believe this wasn’t rohr original list because he made it clear about Musa getting a club before selection but I’m buzzing to the thought of Olise committing his future to Nigeria. Nice work by the nff for convincing him and being able to keep it under radar
Nice list glad to see Micheal olise on standby now we can rest about eze because we have a better option now nice one rohr
OMG, what in the world is this coach looking for? If You had the chance to invite and cap Olise why on earth will you not do it? Why will you invite MUSA all in the name of leadership against an inform Moffi or least to say Onuachu? Nigeria is a land of Comedy indeed. Even Junior Ajayi will give you what Musa does because Balogun can act as a leader. The list is not the best as long as we have some inactive and average players on it. How then do you encourage other players such as Moffi, Onuachu, Simy, Markus and even the Mukairu in the Belgium league. With the form of super eagles players in Europe we should be having a star studded list and not a blend of good and average players. For me this is back to square one routine even though we win both matches because the coach is not taking opportunity to annex the wealth of talents we have at our disposal. Musa, Collins, Shehu and even Awaziem has no business in this team at the moment.
Musa has been included Ademola Lookman has been overlooked. I hope England Selects Lookman for their qualifiers and he opts for England to teach Mediocre minds on this forum a lesson.
Musa Fans I hail Una you have won and Super Eagles has not benefitted a damn Thing.
England will not cap Lookman I won’t add him to the debate for Fifa clearance reasons alongside Ejaria. The coach has to come out and give explanations for the list as every reasonable coach does after listing players. I am honestly gutted by the inclusion of Musa and Collins even when we have better options in this positions. I even doubt if he will play Umar despite inviting him with the sort of mindset I perceive in his way of handling our national team. Old cargo way of thinking this list is boring seriously. Nigeria no dey learn from past mistakes same old story as usual.
Why put olise in standby since they know France is really interested in him. They should hurry up and cap olise. I see France inviting him immediately Nigeria doesn’t cap him and that may be the end for Nigeria.
somethin is wrong wth this list if somone has not spotted i have where is ejuke, lookman, azubuikeokechukwu, and what is ajayi collins moses simon abudulahhi shehu doing in that list and what a hell is wrong wth the football federation invitin olise and placin him on a stanbylist is not healthy in any way we should try and make use of our players who have worked exceedingly hard for both club to be captured
@Nnamdi Nwanne I agree with you it is a shame that Nigeria is this backward in thinking what do you expect from a country that likes to bask in Past Glory instead of creating new history..
People selecting Musa and Justifying it based on his Performance in a one hit wonder Iceland game 3 years ago when the world has moved on Look at France go to their team sheet and show me how many players remain from that same World cup squad that Won the tournament.
A Country that will allow 1994 squad members to influence the team selection so as to not better their performances of almost 27 years ago.
a country that still wants to glorify that team instead of banding together to create an even better squad when we have players that can out do that in this generation if we select the right blend..
Look at what Lookman is doing for Fulham can people honestly not see that he will bring More to this Super Eagles set up than Musa??.
What is actually going on in that meeting room when NFF Crones and so called Technical Team Frauds Meet?? Only God Knows.
What is Musa doing there…this is sport politics. Bcos the super falcons Desire the captain was not invited base on she has not play for long now in super eagle Musa have not bn active for months now he is bn invited
Paul Onuachu play week to week why should they place him on standby.
NFF and Rohr we re watching
So for people who always use one yardstick for a player and a different one for another player… Can you all now stop the inordinate and dubious splurge of incredulity you all post here? In any sane serious footballing nation, including the Germany and France from where Guardiola Gernot Mourinho Rohr has been associated with football… can inviting an inactive and clubless player be justified? We are now beginning to witness politics kill our football instead of fairness and reality… Let’s wait to see the fallout of what Musa’s invitation will cause that team… I forsee disaster in Cameroon because of bickering and factions that will inevitably come up in that SE group… @Dr.Drey and @UBFE, do you all now see that it’s not all about top 5 league jaundiced criterion? Have we not seen that if an unknown Adekunle can be on standby with a seasoned performer like Olayinka, while a heralded African elite club big name like Junior Ajayi does not even merit a standby list… that their is nothing like truth in player selection? We are watching in 3D!
Bro thank you ohhh……I’m an ardent Rohr supporter but this is just totally wrong….if you can invite a clubless Musa he definitely will take a benched Musa at a club to a competition. Let’s see what unfolds in the months to come. I guess Musa has some godfathers in the NFF
@jimmyBall.I’m sad a seasoned professional in the mould of Olayinka was left out for a clubless Musa.
Abia warriors defender Adekunle is there to fill the homebase quota.
From the look of things Olayinka is way behind the pecking order otherwise he should be there instead of Onyekuru. What Olayinka should do is to patiently bide his time before making a move to another club which must be a top 5 European team otherwise his dream of having an international career may never see the light of the day.
Oh dear Olayinka is on standby my bad!
Please tell us the top 5 teams in Europe that your current players feature for
Players want to play for colonizers country if they are born there or born to a parent from Europe. Wanting to play for England, France, Belgium, Netherlands and etc. But majority of the teams are crowded with talented players that they cant even make it to the bench. Players want to play for international competitions, especially the world cup, coming 2022. But players switch allegiance later in life like in mid 20s, 25, 26, 27 years old or later.
Here are a list of players who recently made switches of international teams.
Willy Boly Wolverhampton 30 born in France with Ivory Coast background
Michail Antonio West Ham United 30 born in England with Jamaican background, recently he said he wants to help Jamaica qualify for next world cup. Abdoulaye Doucouré Everton 28 born in France with Mali background. I remember watching a game and they mentioned he got called up which was confirmed by commentator. But to be fair getting called up and actually attending and playing the game are different things. Adama Traore born in Spain with Mali background got called up by Mali and Spain at the same time, and went to play for Spain.
Some players get called up don’t don’t play, just be on the bench and that don’t count towards appearing or cap if i’m right.
Cyriel Dessers 26 born to a Belgium father and Nigerian father who typical Nigerians keep advocating and advertising mixed/biracial players to play for Nigeria did not make the Belgium team. Side note: I remember reading that David Alaba wanted to play for se but was told they were focusing on home based players.
Kevin Akpoguma 25 born to a Nigerian (Urhobo) father and German mother switched to Nigeria like fast, like overnight shipping fast. The last time he played for Germany was in 2017 Germany u21. Players switch national teams as a last resort to get into teams for international competitions.
So all the fake agents crybabies here complaining about Eze, Olsie, Lookman and or Adarabioyo will just have to wait and it may or may not happen.
At the end of the day Rohr is just going to experiment with players even in the most serious of games. The lineups are never the same, every session of games its a new recruit of players but not what fans expected. No solid goal keeper is just one of many issues. Olayinka in after a goal scoring draw against Barcelona last year hasn’t been seen since. Josh Maja change to Nigeria because I read Rohr wanted him to has only been called once. And a bunch loads of Nigerian players with 4 appearances or less, Olarenwaju Kayode scored 4 goals in 5 europa league games and only got 4 appearances for Nigeria like come on! The talent is there, just the recruiting and the consistency is just awful, something deeper between coach and higher ups.
Francis Uzoho or Daniel Akpeyi better be the starting goalkeeper, because this fetish
of inviting mixed/biracial players has gone long enough. They have experience since playing in bigger matches and tournaments. But Sadiq Umar what
i’ve been waiting for. They said Ejaria allegiance to Nigeria was completed.
How come he wasn’t invited? Akpoguma being dropped was a smart decision, he is coming back from injury.
Please which game has Uzoho started this season. But yet we will be calling for players that playing at there club.
Uzoho has been starting for his club APOEL for the past 2 months now.
Maduka Okoye has recently been called up. He mostly played in friendlies. Francis Uzoho played in the world cup as first choice goal keeper and was part of the third place match against Tunisia in Cup of nations. Akpeyi was in a couple of games in the cup of nations as well. There are like 4 uncapped goal keepers in super eagles, this team not ready
I’m very happy to confirm from the list that Olise has finally decided to pitch his tent with us. A week ago, I got information that a new player will be switching allegiance from England to SE, but that the said player had a few things to tidy up with his clearance. I never knew it was the little kid. If he is able to sort things out before match day, I heard he will join up with the team.
It is ridiculous how an 18year old has already made up his mind and taken a good decision over his international future, while an old man like Adebarioyo or whatever he calls himself is still focusing on his club career and scoring own goals. If Adebarioyo or whatever he is called, decides to play for us today, he will join up with the team instantly. No clearance, nothing nothing. His case is very different from the others, because he doesn’t need any clearance whatsoever. He is just the one holding himself from being called up by SE.
From the official list as prepared by Rohr, Maduka Okoye is our first goalkeeper. The Benin match will offer us the chance to continue our assessment of his stewardship as our first goalkeeper. As for Musa, after the training Rohr will determine if he is fit enough to play some part in any or two of the matches.
My suggestion: If we are able to qualify after the Benin match, I suggest some players should tested for the last time to determine if we will continue calling them up or look for replacements. For instance, Ajayi should be paired with Awaziem in central defence
I don’t know why some poeple don’t use their sense at time. How one earth will u ask a coach to change a whole team and replace with players that have never play for national team before just because they are doing well in their club sides? Some people are saying how can musa,Ajayi,Sehu etc be invited and their favourite players are not. Are you the coach Abi how is that your problem? Every little thing they blame the coach, such a terrible senseless myopic people everywhere mtcccchew. I wish I can see some people who usually comment rubbish here especially insulting the coach and give the dirty slap to reset their senses☺
You wey no get sense from day one, where do you even stand? Today you talk a tomorrow B. Tayo you be jankara guy.
bro i think u re the one that need that slap to reset your brain if u think their is nothing wrong with this list you re simply a joker have u ben able to ask urself y that list was delayed the answer is no let me tell u let evaluate the list paul onuachu 25goals nt on dat list y bringin unfit awaziem ahmed musa clubless moses simon ajayi shehu abudulahi to d se setup whereas we have some good players all over the globe plying their trade in europe look at likes of chidera ejuke lookman ademola michael olise onuachu this players re better than the subject above
So, how many goals has he score in super eagles, that you are performing in the club is not an automatic guarantee you will perform international football. onuachu has gotten his chance. I will still have to wait for another opportunity, atleast doing the same thing the same way without result is a failure they say. Onuachu is the same thing that is failing.
Why was Olise not given a straight call-ups, make the team 25 men and at least give him 2 minutes in any of the games to cap tie him
Please,we need to understand something about this list a player placed on stand by list does not mean he will not come to nigeria with the rest of the squad, point of correction michael olise is coming for this qualifier but the only thing there is that the player on the main list is above him in the pecking order, and in case of injury or something emegence he can be call up to replace or fill the void.
When people start raising voices and demanding why Onuachu is not in the list, other people who have never seen Onuachu play for Nigeria will think they are making a good point. Severally, I have seen Onuachu play for Nigeria. The last time was against Algeria last year. In that match, he did almost everything wrong…..even ordinary trapping was a big battle for him not to talk of hold up play. He kept falling down like an epileptic patient at the lightest contact. From the beginning of the match to the end, the Algerian defence was almost on midterm break.
But I’m not against giving him another chance. It is possible he could come good in future. But the problem I have is that I heard he thrives more on penalties…..that is, he scores most of his goals through penalties. Personally I will pick a player a with 30 goals over a player with 40 goals but 35 goals were got through penalties.
It is very possible that we will play these two matches without getting even a single penalty
You have no point the coach needs to continue blending him at the tail end of games. Wait till the game against Benin and see the worst starting eleven if possible Shehu will be the first on team sheet and Aina on bench just dey wait till the day comes and mark my words. Rohr has no appetite for fearsome football, see an impoved Chelsea of today you’ll know that the hand of sports has changed.
Very funny. But just to add Onuachu thrives more on aerial balls and scores 70% of his goals with his head. He is very good as long as you have fast wingers that can give him the kind of crosses he gets in his club. The big questions is do we have the Finidi kind of wingers in the current Super Eagles? Most of our current wingers don’t float high balls to the point man and that is not their strength.
Rohr never disappoints in Team selection. You look at our Squad list back and forth and you’ll just be like, this team should be a World-beater but the problem now lies with the Coach’s tactics. How is he going to manage them to produce not just that result but interesting football all round. I wish and pray they get it right this time.
As for the list, Happy for the Enyimba man in Goal. That’s well-deserved. Am more happy we finally got someone to let Oga Akpere(basket) rest.
In Defence, I see no reason why J.Collins should not be invited. He’s tested and trusted. He hasn’t committed one big blunder that we’ll use it to term him a very bad player. Instead his assist to Ighalo for our only goal that won us the Bronze medal at AFCON comes to my mind. Just to show he’s important. For those saying he hasn’t been playing, go get your facts right. Google is there for you. He’s a constant feature for like the last 14 league games for Paderbon and why are we complaining he plays in Second Division?? Where was he playing when Rohr found him initially and he was the toast of everybody then?? Was it not this same League 2. And do we even have a Better Left back than him playing in a more fancy League? Name them I’ll wait. So his inclusion for me is justifiable. The remaining guys… Kudos and well deserved. I’ll really love to see Aina-Ekong-Balogun-Zaidu combo though.
For the Midfield, Oga Rohhrrrrr! Why not let Semi Ajayi(A center Back) find his footing in his club and let us have a taste of this Awesome Kid that has decided to commit his future to us – MICHEL OLISE!! Infact, his name on that standby shocks me because we all never thought of him committing to us so soon. A big Thank you to him and we all can’t wait to have him join us. Shehu Abdulahi on that list for me is also very justifiable! You guys need to follow up this players before condemning them and we all saw how Shehu single handedly stabilized our Midfield in Freetown! Amazing player ready to give his all. Let’s just assume Iwobi is in that Midfield also and gbam! Our Midfield seems perfect. I pray no injury to Ndidi and Etebo before then. We really miss Ndidi.
For the Attack, I’m so happy for Sadiq Umar. I’ve always said it that if we need a Lanky Striker in the Super Eagles, it is either Sadiq Umar or Simy and not Onuachu. The Coach has done the right thing by inviting Sadiq now that he’s on fire even. I would have love Oshimen to rest but they don’t invite this guys without their consent. So I’m sure he was the one that told the Coach he’s ready to go and he also proved that on Sunday by scoring for his club. More goals again in the National team will do him more good by boosting his Confidence when he returns to Naples so welcome Star Striker. As for the inclusion of The Governor, Musa. We should be reasonable about it. He’s the Captain. He’s the only experienced player left alongside Omeruo and whenever he plays for Nigeria, it doesn’t look like he’s match rusty at all. Even if he’s not going to play that day, his presence with the young lads is a boost on it own. So please let’s die down the jabs. Also I noticed some Tribalistic comments some people are trying to throw in, that can’t work! This is the only thing that Unites us together so please let’s get behind the team.
#SOARSUPEREAGLES
@ChairmanFemi, Welldone Chairman this is the best and most objective comment I have read so far. I also checked up the starts of Shehu and Collins and confirmed that their call up was well deserved. Shehu also plaid is several Europa league matches for his club this season. So people should research before condemning our boys.
If there is anything i am 100% sure of…its the fact that majority here dont even get their facts right before running amok. The other day, Rohr said ONLY 1 player has been 100% cleared to play for Nigeria…oversabis went to town claiming Rohr was making excuses ahead not to invite the rest…..Like seriously..?? Which coach wouldn’t love to have the likes of lookman, Tosin and Ovie…?? Even when they have been finally cleared, they still have to complete the whole process by getting Nigerian Passports. Anyone in diaspora today knows how messed up getting a New Nigerian Passport is nowadays. But people must talk…if dem nor talk dem go get stroke. Na dem sabi coaching work pass the person wey dem dey pay $50k to do the work
Goat as usual you will not use your sense after same you said that clubless or home based should not be invited. Now you come up here to defend this strange political list, in your sense you think that a player like collins will bench Zaidu or multi position aina playing week and out for porto and inform fulham or is it that we don’t have Ebuehi who recently scored for Benfica, this coach is sick seriously. Nigeria can never have a fantasy team again like 94 because of Rohr and naija politics. This is a shame and injustice to sports.
Hahahahaha….this lying dog is back here….LMAO. Idiot that ran away to “enjoy his weekend” ON A SUNDAY NIGHT after being exposed of his fat lies….LMAO Mr ‘autocorrect correct Antonio to Anthony’ abi na Anthony to Antonio sef….LMAO.
If you arent stupid you will realize there are 2 players for each position, 2 RB and 2 LBs…..what wat stupidity are you talking here about Jamilu Collins..?? The last time Rohr played players out of positions you idiots cried. Now he has invited players based in each position idiots are still weeping….LMAO. In your mind you have said something now o….LMAO. Useless pig.
Its like we will need that autocorrect to correct your brain….LMAO
You see your life you this shameful pig keep fooling yourself i am glad other guys on this forum are taking note of your nonsense. The sad life you and most of this naija based guys living is making you people talk out of sense because you have never experienced a decent organized life outside Nigeria that is why you guys don’t know the truth of life. You only buy what you read on internet forgetting that only the true witness knows the fact of every situation.
LMAO i sorry for you guys alot for your present plights of not been exposed enough, now edo guy of New Jersey has finally accepted Rohr’s blunder because in a place like USA where he is writing from you can’t toy with their sports. Drey you be real yeye person, when you even back the UBFE and Ubah i am shocked that you actually don’t have sense too when i was thinking you were only smart in foolishness.
Idiot….Pathetic liar. If it is your living outside Nigeria that made you such a cheap liar, claiming autocorrect corrected your fake name from Antonio to Anthony…..then those living in Nigeria are far better than you. LMAO. If living outside Nigeria is why you are an animal then it will be better to live in Nigeria.
Bloody illiterate…I didnt know living outside Nigeria is an achievement…LMAO. I didnt know that the day dawns differently from the way it dawns in Nigeria…neither did I know the sun that shines outside Nigeria comes from another galaxy. When living outside Nigeria because something to brag about, we know your are a poverty stricken fool. Idiot is refering to Edoman in Newjersey….Idiot…waht about you…..what have your offered this forum apart from your stupidity
I’ve lived and worked in 12 different countries on 4 continents and THERE REMAINS NO PLACE LIKE HOME. There are millions doing better at home than millions I’ve seen and met living outside the country and that’s a fact. And there are millions who have gotten their lives back since returning home after getting tired of living in poverty abroad.
I didnt know living outside Nigeria is now something worth bragging about….that shows the kind of low-life mentality you have. Pls go and write it on your forehead everywhere you go…LMAO.
Useless Animal. I wont be surprised if you tell us tomorrow that it was Autocorrect that wrote all these nonsense you just wrote….LMAO
Hehehehehe….@Jimmyball the great. The only footballer who played to the highest level but his name cannot be found on the roll of all the teams he claimed to have played for….LMAO. I thought you claimed player invitations are only received 3-5 days before international matches….Lolz. Its a whole 3 weeks to our next international match and clubs have already confirmed receipt of official invitations from the federation. Time is always the best judge…..talk about another fictitious declaration from you now BUSTED. Lolz.
That aside, recall you belong to that ‘elite’ group of 4/5 = 95% who were jubilating that they were the ones who suggested all the clauses in Rohr’s renewed contract….Lolz. Have you forgotten that you guys included the clause which now cedes ABSOLUTE POWER of invitations to the SE on the NFF…??? LMAO. So why are you gnashing teeth now that invitations which used to squarely be on merit b4 has now become controversial since the said contract was signed…??? The list of invitees was submitted 2 good weeks ago to the NFF….whatever made it un-announceable up till today is best left to imagination….LMAO. And as for your Junior Ajayi….let him become a chief at Alhaly….small boys like Olise and Ejaria who are natural attacking midfielders are coming in to take up the AM role in the SE. The left and right wings are being sealed by the likes of Kalu, Chukwueze, Henry, Ejuke etc while the striking position is being contested for by the Umars, Moffis, Osimhens, Onuachu and Iheanachos of the world who are lighting the top leagues in Europe with fire goals. Tell your boy to build a castle in Alahly…you hear. LMAO.
The top 5 league criterion still stands….!!!
@Dr.Drey… Stay on the subject Mr. Top 5 league. One word… everything you wrote above is just offpoint. How is it that comprehension is still such a big challenge for you Nwanne? We need to kit Joseph Yobo also… afterall no one needs any activity in clubs anymore to play for Super Eagles… shock awaits you all in Porto Novo!
Hahahahahaha…..what do I care if they are off-target like 95% of your rants on this forum….LMAO. I choose to address any issue anytime I like MAN. I dont give a **** about you or what you think.
Mr ‘played at the highest level’….LMAO….players get invitations 3-5 days before matches….LMAO. You were gloating that day like someone who just won the lotto telling everyone how ignorant of football I am…LMAO. Time is the biggest harbinger of the truth…LMAO
Rant till tomorrow Top 5 league in the world stands….the main list consist of available players in that position playing in (or have played in) either Spain, England, Germany, Italy, France, or Portugal….FIRST….then others follow if there are no more options from those countries in that position…. tell your clients to also go and compete in the top 5 leagues in the world…simple and clear. LMAO.
I thought you were ranting aimlessly here b4 claiming Rohr was going to invite Ighalo for these matches…..where is Ighalo on the list now….LMAO. You where just taking aspirin for body pain that isnt your own. You see how you just make nuisances of yourself here everyday with your ITK….??LMAO.
Yeah…shock awaits you in Porto Novo…..we’re going to Cameroon with a game to spare in Porto Novo.
If the list too pain you…..type your own list of invitees and send them invitation letters. The coach has selected those he believes will get the job done for him. You can go and raise your own SE if you are not pleased.
We are waiting for you to tell us how desperate Rohr is by inviting Ndidi, Chukwueze and Osimhen where their coaches are already featuring them week-in-week-out now….LMAO
It was my rant that made Rohr to tuck his tail between his legs and shelved the invitation of Ighalo… No doubt he is a good striker but considering the atmosphere that would have caused the entire team… It would have been more negative than positive to invite Ighalo back at this point. I will support it if the strikers waiting in ranks now can’t deliver.
Hahahahaha….awesome. Wake up from you hallucination. It was more of your lack of comprehension of both spoken and written English that made you rush to town with a false alarm. Rohr made a statement filled with a lot of caveats…..caveats which would never have been met before the list was compiled. If your rants had any effects Olayinka would be taking the place of Aribo while Junior Ajayi would be benching Iwobi in the SE today….LMAO
E be like say dem take “off point” conversation swear for you.
The day you will stay on the subject without lashing out curses like a possessed man, may be that day dogs will grow horns.
But of course you will do anything to defend your master’s bidding. If only you had a full time paying job. What a pity.
Let me here warn you once more, Housewife Drey, stop taking my name in vain.
The fool is back…..!!! The same fool who always claims to be smart, thinks he is smart, but doesnt know he has been found out long time ago….LMAO. Team captain of Liars Utd….weldone…keep impersonating me LMAO….I will strip you naked when the right time comes.
I wont dignify you with responses this time around.
@Real Dr. Drey thank you. You know, you and I now only throw jibes at each other in a manner of friendly punches. Someone @fakeDr.Drey… Please get another alias please. Stop using someone’s username please. There are lots of names you can coin and use… If you like Dr. title too much just use Dr. Impersonator… hahaha. What is the end game of using someone alias please! This forum is for mature SE fans please… Subtle attack is allowed if it all lends a different funny or superior angle to discussion… But taking someones alias is really childish and clownish if some of us must say the truth! Stop it brother… Please be advised. One love!
It is not always easy to push the captain of a team away like that especially with a team like ours that’s very young. Musa’s inclusion in that team goes beyond playing the game on the field. There are important off field activities of a captain in a team. It must have been a very tough decision by rohr and nff.
It’s just that in Nigeria we read politics, religion into everything.
In 1994, Stephen keshi was not really fit enough to be at the nations cup and even at the world cup. We have very strong defenders in uche okeychukwu, chiro nwani, uche okafor, etc.
But the coach must create the chance for keshi because of the influence he had on the team. Keshi only played one game at the 1994 world cup against Greece. He wouldn’t have played if we had lost our first match against Bulgaria.
So it’s always tough when the captain is in the situation of musa. It’s tough for the coach. I believe we need him around the team for off field work.
If you observe the super eagles, the experienced ones left the team at the same time. Moses, ighalo, and now musa is clubless.
On the list again. Olise and moffi should have been invited at least to cap tie them.
The information we have from close sources is that People like Olise are still sorting out their Passport issues and may not be ready before the Match (you know Nigeria). So they could only make the Stand by list. But if it is ready before then and any players has reasons to drop they can fill in.
Lies if we really need him he will be invited and when the passport is still unavailable then a standby player will replace him. Continue believing political excuses bro.
Fool….so which passport will we use to register him with CAF as a Nigerian player for the matches…? His British passport abi…LMAO. So it is the day of the match when the CAF match commissioners inspect players passports and rule him out that we will now call the standby player to use odeshi and appear in Nigeria from europe abi……Imbecile. That you are stupid is not an insult…it is a compliment.
We will rather believe this political excuse than believe your stupidity. Worthless bastard
SMH i can see how naive you are that brings me back to the subject of your stupidity drey, have you forgotten what they call express passport if no ask google, guy you’re good at making a fool of yourself thinking you have made sense to yourself and assistants. I no suppose dey argue with this riff raff. Coward
Hahahahaha…….Ignorant fool….Pathetic lair….LMAO. Mr autocorrect correct Antonio to Anthony….LMAO…..You copy and paste where you got information about express Nigerian passports on google here…..LMAOooooo. Bloody Liar…LMAO. Ignorant illiterate….LMAO. It just shows your stupidity doesn’t even know the road to google in the first place…LMAO
Ignorant idiot go and check NIS protocols on express passports and read why people like Olise cannot just get express passports and stop being a complete fool disgracing yourself here with your stark ignorance….LMAO.
1st class mumu…..LMAO….go and ask google yen yen yen yen….LMAO.
Your uselessness is legendary….see human being making sensible contributions and debates all throughout the news thread. The useless animal is here arguing ignorantly and scavenging like the pig that he is. Olodo….LMAO.
Dont go and update yourself instead of persistently disgracing yourself here…LMAO.
Nor be only express passport…..na Enugu Express transport company….LMAO
There are alot of things we are actually not getting right about super eagle. Majority criticized the presence of Musa in the list. Just cast your mind back, before Mikel finally bowed out, Kanu, JJ etc they were constantly been invited to play 90mins 0r 50mins..their presence around the upcoming ones to share national team experience, value of the team with the young boys, to properly integrates the upcoming start into the national team fold and spirit. The Olise, Maja, Moffi, etc have age on their side and it’s obvious they will soon enjoy the national team for a very long time. For instance look at Victor Oshimen today, people were crying that he wasn’t invited by the coach few years back today he’s an integral member of the team. Musa’s inclusion is purely for another purpose.. Infact mark my words, he might not play any part in this double header. Those young boys time will surely come, let’s allow them to keep learning and getting all necessary experience which will be useful to the national team later. Don’t forget Bathelomeo Ogbeche
This list just represents a whittled down determination of Rohr,in resisting certain undeserving names being forced on him. Instead of criticising, I think we should be commending Rohr for his determination. It could have been really bad had THEY succeeded. As for Musa it seems he is the 24th player; only there to be around the team. While for the absence of the effervescent Ademola lookman n also Ejaria, might just be a case of them not being fully cleared or Rohr prioritizing Chemistry over individuality for the moment, as the SE might only just be able to have a maximum of 2 days training before the game. All being said, in my opinion, I think it’s a very good list. Kudos to Rohr n happy for d new guys including that Enyimba goalie; looks very very good.
Let me chip in my little Cents on Musa’s invitation……..I believe it is well deserved. Musa needs SE at this point in his career so much that it will be a disservice to leave him out completely. He is looking for a club but he’s unattached at the moment, the only way to assure the prospective team will be to showcase his talent in the SE colours and show them he is still the real deal.
Before guy will castigate me that SE team is not an advertising agency…………let me take you back to memory lane on the sojourn of Musa in the National team set up:
He set the NPFL alight in 2010 becoming the highest goal scorer with 18 goals at age 17+ years old. he then earn a national team call up and a transfer to VVV-Venlo. He represented Nigeria U-20 in 2011 U-20 WC scoring 3 goals, despite the fact that he is still settling down at VVV-Venlo he never used that excuse to decline U-20 invitation, he even played 1 match for the U-23 same year and still honours SE invitations as well. Ever since he became a regular in SE team, he has never decline any single invitation till date, never came up with any excuse and always gave his best whenever called upon , highly dedicated and motivated in the White & Green jersey. Even before the 2018 WC, he sacrificed the Big Pounds sterling earnings in Leicester to opt for a loan stint in Russia just to be in the team and he delivered with 2 stunning WC goals that was nominated for the tournament best goal award.
So all am saying is that, this young Man has demonstrated his Patriotism, sacrificed a lot when Nigeria needs him and served us creditably well. So now that he needs Nigeria, should we now turn our back on him?
Anyone that watched our last four games in 2020 will see that he still has much impact in the matches than your referred Onoachudowsky……………..1 flick assist and causing a penalty against Tunisia are the key moments in that game, against S/L the team collapsed totally after his substitution.
9ce write up @DeBank…
I think this sums it up….
This is the right time to replicate the same love Musa showed to nigerians back to him….
It’ll be unfair to push him away now that he needs us….
Thanks for the enlightenment once again….
:::SHALOM:::
Nigerian’s indeed very sentimental people. If we want to be a success as a people as a nation,we should stop being sentimental.
What Musa has done in the past is well appreciated. However, your country needs you at your best and you have to be at your best to represent your country you love so much.
If I were Musa I won’t honour the invitation to allow other deserving players to get there well deserved chance.
Meanwhile,Musa may eventually be the hero for the upcoming playoffs, but we have to show good example for the future and the national team should maintain discipline and fairness.
Omeruo has no business in that team, hé is crap. Perçy Tau finished him last time in South Africa but Since hé Shares thé same manager with Rohr, lets continue celebrating mediocrity
Pls give us proof Omeruo shares the same manager with Rohr. Because Tau finished him in southafrica in 2018 (almost 3 years ago), Omeruo cannot be invited to the national team in 2021 and only gets invited because he shares same manager with Rohr. Clap for yourself. In your mind now you’se said something sensible.
That was how they lied to us that Rohr only invites players from 1 agency until I stabbed that lie here by pasting a full list of the agents of all SE players.
Once again Pls give us proof Omeruo shares the same manager with Rohr……we are waiting…LMAO
Omeruo shares the same manager with Rohr….? Wow..that’s intersting. Pls can you kindly show us proof of this statement…? Can you defend this statement in a court of law…?!
Percy Tau finished omeruo is south africa in 2018…so because of that Omeruo should not be invited to the national team in 2021 (3 years later)…..and in your mind you have said something that is valid…LMAO. The fact that you even call yourself ‘Coache’ even makes more mockery of it.
That was how the ‘smart one’ told us lies here that Rohr only invites players from only one agency (because they cut him a deal) until I stabbed the lie by pasting the list of all SE players’ agents here.
Once again, please show us proof/links that Omeruo shares the same agent with Rohr……we are waiting.
You are lying drey show us where someone said that rohr only invites players from one agent stop lying to confuse people. Drey you are the bigger liar here some of us know you idiot you can’t fool us.
Born by mistake…I know you where still in the gutters recovering from drug abuse when they told us that lie and I countered it with facts as usual.

Gentleman, Dan the bull Amokachi hit the nails on the head yesterday when he said that all the players in the SE are represented by only 3 agents and one of the agents also represent oga Rohr.

@UBFE, thanks for checking on me bro. Now, moti sórósoke o. Let’s hope for the best from Oga Rohr.
It’s my country, I wish Super Eagles good luck. God bless Nigeria!!!
Although I have some reservations about some names on the list, i feel it makes more sense to give the coach the benefit of doubts.
Inviting 9 defenders for a match sounds illogical, by now the coach should have known the defenders that suit his game plan. No need for Collins when you have Aina who can play both wings effectively..
In the CD, Balogun and any other three will do (Ajayi, Omeruo and Ekong)
the wing back (Aina, Tyrone and Zaidu)
This will free up two spaces to be shared between MF and ATT..(new players: Olise and Moffi).
The issue of Musa’s invitation seems to be more of leadership, There is never a doubt about what Musa brings to the team but I think inviting him as a special guest makes more sense at this time. Perhaps, it’s becoming clearer that the gaffer is not comfortable with having Ekong as a leader. This is not surprising because the team seems to be lacking in this area. There are better options in Balogun and Omeruo (two players that are ahead of him in terms of seniority and capabilities). With the exception of seniority, i think Ndidi has all it takes to lead this team.
Again, the ball is in the gaffer aka Belmadi’s boy court..
Benin is not Sierra Leone!!
The smart one…you are welcome back. Long time no see. Its seems such a wonderful coincidence you and my impostor always seem to be on the same shift here on CSN. Its great to have you both back. More power to your elbows ehn…..LMAO

Double idiots SMH God will see you guys through your hardship you two know what i mean.
I m very surprised that Nigerian football federation are still doing all this negative politics in football which does not favor the nation. Why invited muss in the team? Why we are blessed with talented players like olise, lookman and others. I think is time for them to adopt merit system in inviting players rather by politics.
I am most excited for the invitation of Michael Olise. Though on standby, we Nigerian fans can finally say to hell with Eze!!! At 18, the guy has already be making his mark. We definitely have a gem in our hands.
Now it is time for pinnick to make a call to the Minister of sport and let Dare call the minister of interior Aregbesola to use his political influence to ensure the boy is issued a Nigerian passport ASAP.
At first when I saw the list I was disgusted with the inclusion of Musa but after reflecting on what the Pinnick said after the draw against the Sierra Lone that the captain was furious and almost broke down with the team performance. Then my second thought was maybe he was invited to galvanize the team as a captain hence the list was a 24-man.
But sister was Musa able to help them win the second leg if No then the coach never still learn lesson.
The legitimate goal that was canceled in freetown, who made the pre-assist….???
Drey Bobby asked if we won the game? I also ask you did we win it? What’s the business of that question with a goal that didn’t count? Bhuari Junior drey get sense.
Where is Ademola Lookman? And why o why is Michael Olise not on the main list? Is he on standby because he has not committed yet, and they are still working on him? That is the only scenario that makes sense to me. If he has committed and is available, he should be in the main list, despite his young age.
Whether he will agree to go to Benin by boat is another matter 🙂 🙂 🙂
Hahaha nawaaa oh Mr Rohr will make some people kolo here, plz Mr Rohr ride on but wait oh why he didn’t invite aghahowa, udeze and Jimmyball,
All the people starting name with U and Dr. on this forum have same sickness, they attack people at once like wild animals so we need to attack them back before we country promoting corruption in this country.
Hahaha lol u are welcome Mr onuku, hope u will be able to finish the fight, dnt cry for data oh

Public dog……I thought all those people are my clones…LMAO. Clones have suddenly become aba and Lagos boys…??? That is how mentally deranged you are. Confused fool.
If bobby chooses to waste his time on clones how is that your headache…..? Is he using your time or your resources…?? Leave him to waste his time and craw back to your refuse dump.
Animal is looking for friend…LMAO. Everybody on the forum has rejected his filthy leprous hand of friendship….LMAO. Who wants to be associated with stupidity.
Bloody gorilla….!!!
Well, the list is questionable, it’s the coach job, let him choose what please him, but going by what he said before. Players will be invited by merit but the inclusion of musa, and the exclusion of Paul is the talking point all over the places. Thumps up to olise maybe he isn’t cleared yet that’s why his name is in standby, with that eze should go and sleep, 18yrd while 22 is still thinking. I wish them the best of luck, though no matter the list people will still complain. Naija football.
Firstly, I give thanks to God for giving us opportunity to witnessed today.
Secondly, without CSN, I don’t think none of us will be here today to discuss about our national team, Super Eagles. Coming here everyday to read Nigerian sports news it’s a joy for me. For these reasons, I would like to say many thanks to CSN and God bless you people more and more.
Thirdly, Oga Rohr.
Thank you so much for what you have been doing all this while most especially, about this list.
Now, I can talk.
Fellow Nigerians, lend me your ears.
I don’t have much to talk about today.
The list is finally out and I’m satisfied with it and on the on other hand, not hundred percent satisfied.
The reason why I said I’m satisfied is this. All we needed in the Super Eagles is on this list.
Also, I said I’m not partially satisfied because the coach decided to put Olishe and others players on standby.
Nonetheless, we shouldn’t celebrate too much about this list.
Reason no1, Oga made a huge mistake by not trying out new players during the last friendlies. By now, Olishe and other new players would have known much better about the Super Eagles.
What is the essence of having Dessers, Yakubu, Alanpasun and others without given them a chance and now, the gaffer opted for another new players that is 100 percent guaranteed that he will put them on the bench?
This squad can beat any top team outside the continent if properly managed.
This squad can beat all the top teams in Africa if Oga Rohr can use his tactics right.
This is where I have to use my simple arithmetic to solve this problem.
If we read section 404 on page 2030 of my constitution then we will understand that what ahead of the Super Eagles is beyond Oga and his crew.
Now, the section says 1+1=2 right?
Here is where I’m having issues with Oga Rohr.
Since our 1+1=2 which is the list he made available to the public today.
However, how can oga Rohr use 1+1 to be 4?
He invited Akpeyi which making the equation not to be balanced and it can never be balanced because of the mentality of the manager.
He believes that Akpeyi experience will help the team while He, Akpeyi was in goal against Argentina and he made so many mistakes and his experience did not make the difference and the manager had to call Uzoho and he did so well compared to Akpeyi, the most experienced one at the moment.
If I may ask, what is he doing on that list?
That shows 1+1 Oga Rohr can never be 4.
However, Musa deserves to be on the list and I’m so happy that the gaffer did the right thing. I have said it on here that the service of Musa is needed in this team.
Still, my colleagues on this forum believes that the coach will build this team and Super Eagles have a bright future under coach Rohr? How could that be possible? It’s years now.
Since Akpeyi experience is nothing to write home about, we have a fantastic Yakubu, he did not call him into the camp.
We have Alanpasun, the gaffer did not call him instead, he keep recycling players.
Again, 1+1 Oga Rohr can never be 4
Using players in wrong position is another thing.
For me, Ebuehi, Awaziem should be on RB including Aina. Both Ebuehi and Awaziem are ahead of Aina. If you are in doubt go and watch Aina, Ebuehi and Awaziem clips and tell me the best among them.
Jamilu Collins and Zaidu Sanusi should be left alone in that LB.
Problem solved in that area.
The main problem of the gaffer is tactics.
You can’t give what you don’t have.
Olishe and Sodiq Umar should be Oga Rohr weapons for the two encounters because our opponents knew all our players and for tactics reasons, Olishe and Onyekuru shouldn’t have bn on standby.
Oga Rohr have failed on this.
Mr. Westerhof used his 1+1 against Zambia in 1994 Afcon final by bringing in Amunike to destabilized Zambian tactics wich eventually works for Nigeria.
Long story short, I’m glad that Onuachu is on standby. Ighalo is not on the list which is good for new players but is guaranteed that the coach will use them?
What happened to Dessers?
The strength of this team depends on our wingers.
If our opponents clips down our wingers, is there any way out?
That is where we needed the services of Moffi, Onyekuru, Olishe and Sodiq.
Naco should not lead the attack instead, he should be behind the strikers.
Sodiq should replace Osimhen in the second half.
Why Osimhen in the first place? That means the coach can’t take a risk? While we have other young talented strikers?
Sierra Leone did not have half of our star players but they made life difficult for our players. That is what we called tactics.
Technically and tactically, Benin team is ahead of Oga Rohr.
Go back and watch the first match of both countries my people.
For sure, Benin have learned their lesson and they will come back for a revenge.
The only way out for Oga Rohr is to use 1+1 to =4
Anything less than this, Eagles may be punished like the way Madagascar and Algeria did against Super Eagles because of Oga Rohr wrong tactics.
No Matter what, Oga Rohr will keep having decent team without winning trophies.
NFF can still keep Oga Rohr because of his man management after this qualifiers but I’m not sorry to say this, he can’t take the team beyond this level.
He should be around to help our indigenous coaches and ex players to develop their man management skills.
We can’t go far in Cameroon if Oga still in charge of the team except if God says its our turns to win the championship.
I won’t celebrate yet because we haven’t qualified yet and we have to humble ourselves for now.
The list looks great on the screen but on the pitch? Hmm. I don’t know.
Anyways, I wish Super Eagles and Oga Rohr the best. God bless Nigeria!!!
Sorry for my typos. God bless Nigeria!!!
@Omo9ja, sincerely speaking i am really struggling to fathom and understand your message in this write up
What exactly is your point @Omo9ja. Reading this piece twice can bring Headache…lol.
Hahahahahaha…..LMAO. Na human being write this thing abi na language tranlator wey don get virus…??? Abeg if you nor get anything sensible to write why not keep shut. Must you talk….?? Person just talk rabu-rabu rabu…any key wey finger touch for keyboard….like say na trance. LMAO. And then if by coincidence things happen similarly to one the lines up there he will claim Yes…I said it. LMAO
Is different from Ubah and UBFE?
Is he different from them i ask again?
Bastard toto go and ask God for knowledge, osu
While we all point out Onuachu’s omission, nobody is questioning this Rohr’s midfield. This man has repeatedly listed Semi Ajayi & Shehu Abdullahi as midfielders in recent matches. When was the last time these guys took up midfield roles in their respective clubs? What happened to Onyeka & the other midfielders? Is this man okay? Even in our league, can’t he source for midfielders? My goodness. Can’t we see how dysfunctional we’ve become as a society?
The very same league players that could not qualify for CHAN , they could not even qualify for car chsmpion league for 3 consecutive years now abi?
All players cant be invited
@Kenechi… Onyeka’s body of game is still a little below par what is needed for Super Eagles… I understand a move to Bundesliga Stuttgart is on the cards for him. We will be able to assess him better then. Honestly I think very soon Semi Ajayi has to compete at CB and not anywhere in midfield… I see no reason why he should be listed as a midfielder, a position he has not played for a long while in his club. I think we can look at the guy Jack Ipallibo in Norway to see if he can stake a claim as understudy to Ndidi, he was at Villarreal before Chukwueze and did so well but was still not moved to first team… He plays like Yaya Toure, with Super Eagles exposure he could be a real competitor for Ndidi, Abdullah Shehu is solid and stable… he plays DM at his club and did a good job in the return in Sierra Leone… He is a sound player who can really still finesse his game! I think we should move Lookman Ademola to AM when his switch finally smoothens out… In my opinion, the candidates we need to look at in traditional midfield roles are Aribo(AM) , Iwobi(AM) , Lookman(AM) , Olise(AM) , Iheanacho(AM) , Azubuike(DM), Shehu(DM), Ndidi(DM)… Unfortunately we can only have at best six(6) out of the eight mentioned above… these are for the traditional midfield positions depending on what we want to play… In the modern game, it’s now LM (left midfield), RM(Right Midfield) and CM(Central Midfield)… Hitherto midfield positions were Defensive midfield(right side) , Attacking Midfield(leftside) and a Supporting Attacker in a traditional 442 set up… But now with setups often 4231,4321… Which are just actually 451 and 433… the supporting attacking role from old has been pushed back into midfield at the forward direction apex to play behind the sole striker… these has helped most teams to be able to play balanced midfield game where they are not easily dominated by a more organized opponent… teams playing to strength are now being more able to cancel each other in midfield… at the end of the day, it’s down to tactics that work to frustrate your opponent and counter their onslaught… It will be best to allow Ademola Lookman compete in attacking midfield to free the wings for other solid candidates the likes of Kalu, Olayinka, Simon… it’s important to have squad members who can function in multiple positions… for any tournament. But certainly midfield is where we still need to optimize the most with the best of alternatives available to us…
What a wonderful list! I don’t see a problem with this list, literally none!
It is obvious that the bone of contention in this list is first of all the inclusion of Musa. I’m in support of his invitation. First of all, his critics have a funny way of defining leadership and recognizing its essence in an organization. Musa critics are saying he does not have leadership qualities. That’s funny, really is. Someone in this forum said so but shot himself in the foot by not listing one qualities of a leader. People often say that a captain must be vocal. I disagree. The ability to express your opinion is vital in leadership, that I know. But let’s don’t mistake personality for leadership. Aggression is not necessary a sign of passion. It can just be anger residing in one’s heart.
Let me define leadership, so that we can better understand the impact Musa brings to the team. Leadership in simple terms, is the ability to mobilize men to get things done through inspiration. Leadership is influence, the ability to rally men for a common cause. To achieve this qualities such as moral ascendency and paternalism easily comes to mind. The former means that quality that makes others look up to you; that “presence” that causes others to believe you are the better man to lead than they themselves. Two of the keys necessary to achieve moral ascendency is experience – people respect authoritative knowledge (especially in our culture in Nigeria); and high performance. Musa checks this two box highly. Musa is the most experienced among the players called. Not that only, but also has proven times without number that when it comes to delivering in important matches he is one to be called. I truly believe we don’t need examples to justify this humble fact.
Now why did I emphatically mention that we should not confuse personality to leadership? Because if we do so, we will prefer a Diego Costa above a Xavi for the captain armband. Or pick a Luis Suarez above a Pirlo. This will be a drastic mistake. That Costa and Suarez fight and debate almost every decision of the linesman does not mean they are passionate or caring. Worst of all, let’s don’t mistake their behavior as a sign of dedicated leadership. Those players could simply be fighting for personal gain. Leadership is lots more! It’s about people, your team and the way you carry them along – both on the pitch and off it! A leader must consistently ask himself: how does my actions promote the goals of the team? I assure you, if Costa and Suarez consistently ask themselves this question they won’t fight the referee for every call and will certainly not bite their opponents.
Now you may ask: “how does Musa fulfill this?” This is where another quality of leadership comes in, which is paternalism. What is paternalism? It simply means taking into consideration the welfare of others. It means to care. Amaju Picnik admitted that Musa almost “broke down”. Now that is passion! That is what it means to care! Someone in this forum implied that Musa is shy, that is, unwilling to confront the referee on a justified basis. What a lie. It is obvious the guy didn’t watch the match against Sierra Leone in Freetown. When Musa stood the ref to his face because the ref was officiating nonsense. It was even aribo that started holding him back. Has Musa given an excuse for not honouring an invitation? Silly reasons like “I want to settle down in my club”. The fact that he was given the captain in place of an active Enyeama says a lot about his off the pitch work ethics. Though I disagreed with this opinion at that time because I felt Musa was still young and shouldn’t be given precedence over Mikel, talk-less of Enyeama. But now, both Mikel and Enyeama are retired. All these inspires, they bring an espirit in the camp. Something that is extremely vital for national football. Remember these players don’t have up to two weeks to stay together. Something national football can’t boast of unlike clubsides.
You will agree with me that football is as psychological as it is physical. Now, because Musa is clubless doesn’t mean he should be thrown away. Has he not been performing under this condition? He has! Saying that Musa should be dropped means that you overestimate the importance of talent above other qualities that makes one successful with people, especially in an endeavor like football. Qualities such as the act of teamwork, dedication, commitment, patriotism, dedication, etc. That’s why Musa was called, if he wasn’t the negative impact on the young players will be devastating.
For Olise, I’m glad he committed to super eagles. With ejaria coming soon and nwakali already getting regular play, our no10 position will be highly competitive. Iwobi has his hands totally full.
@Dr Drey, UBFE, aphilithegreat, lanre, pompei etc how are you guys doing? Longest time. @jimmyball, you may always express a contrary opinion to mine but I’ve always respected your decorum. Nice one man.
God bless Super Eagles!! All the way.
@omo9ja.
Now i truely believe maturity is not in age, it is in the head.
Your responds shows how matured u are, thanks a lot…
Let’s just accept this list as a true nigerian and move on….
The aim is to qualify and go ahead and win the AFCON trophy ASAP….
LET’S JOIN OUR FAITH TOGETHER WHILE HOPING FOR THIS….
::::SHALOM::::
This is a golden opportunity for us to cap tie Olise. He is currently eligible to play for 4 countries. England, his country of birth. France, where his mother hails from. Nigeria, through his dad. And Algeria, with his mother having Algerian roots.
If we miss this opportunity, he will likely go back and reconsider his options.
Agreed, we can do without him. Nobody is indispensable. But this guy solves a nagging problem that we’ve had for a long time. The problem of creativity in the midfield. Olise will bring a new dimension to the team, especially given his ability with the dead ball. A freekick specialist who has the ability to open up defenses with his range of passing and dribbling skills.
He can help us in the midfield. And he scores goals. Being a lefty, he likes to drift to the right, and then cut in on his left foot to whip in crosses, or deliver deadly shots. A very mobile and intelligent midfielder.
I wish Rohr would move this guy out of the standby list and into the main list immediately. Even if he doesn’t want to start him, at least bring him in later to cap tie him, so we can secure his services. Olise on the standby list makes zero sense to me. I do hope Rohr reads CSN, and I hope he acts with urgency. If Olise did not chose Nigeria, fine. We move on. But if he did, we can’t play around with someone with his quality. It’s not like we have his type readily available.
Olise obviously has world cup ambitions. That’s the only “business” reason he would chose Nigeria. His father has probably instilled a sentimental love for Nigeria in him. But the world cup is what will enhance his status as a footballer. And with that in mind, Nigeria is indeed an excellent choice for him. We need to grab him while the opportunity presents itself.
@nnamdi why didn’t you apply and make sure you get the job when it was advertised since u know better than the coach? All you people shouting the coach should have invited this or that can not even coach your neighbourhood club but can come here and run mouth anyhow. Talk is cheap. Even if the man win tommorrw they will say ordinary Benin but he loose/draw another problem.Terrible human being who always find fault in another person’s work to frustrate his effort.
See player we are putting on standby. Make we no mumu, go lose this guy to Algeria, or any of the other countries ooo! Nothing wrong with having a 25-man list!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBeoZancCF0
The young lad has not got his Nigerian passport yet, he can’t be registered for competition without a passport
March 27 is a bit over two weeks away. More than enough time to get the lad a passport.
That explains why he is on standby. Rohr is hoping a passport is obtained for the lad asap. Now, that makes a whole lot of sense to me!
Clone of drey saying same thing exactly drey is saying Dr, Dr Banks and Dr drey are same persons. I won’t debate on this I’m just making everyone aware.
Add Ikeben too to your list….LMAO. And every other person who has said same stuff. Abandoned fool….LMAO.
When someone has been afflicted with madness, not even his ancestors can save him
The list is very good and fair. The wranglings and grumblings and murmurings about musa is far fetched. Musa’s presence in the team as the captain at this critical period is very important. Even though musa may not play an active role in the execution of the matches esp that of Benin, his presence would psychologically boost the moral of the players. Stephen keshi did the same thing with yobo. Yobo during his end days of his career was invited by Stephen keshi for very crucial games even though he played little or no active roles (both at club and national team levels) but his presence did a lot to the psyche of the team and young lads with little or no african football experience. For those who are whining bcs of the invitation of osimhen, shebi na the same una dy talk say rohr doesn’t know his team yet and always invites new crop of players Everytime. Now he has invited the players he feels are his main team with the exception of sadiq (whose invitation is well deserved), some of us are still crying. God forbid we lose the match against the beneniose, it’s this same crop of people that would shout to the heavens for the crucifixion of rohr for not inviting his best legs. However, if you feel the list is not good or that the invitation of musa is not proper, pls, don’t surf the internet anymore to read news about the super eagles and don’t bother to watch their matches until your messiah coach takes charge.
Mr.Rohr, Pls don’t joke with super eagles fans. If u fail to qualify super eagles to the Nations cup or fail to cap tie this young guy Micheal Olise and allow another country to snatch him away from us, we will not forgive you. Pls we are begging you now to secure this guy for us by including Him to the main list and cap him for us even if you will play him 3 minute pls do that for us. We love Micheal Olise’s talents and his skills
Well, if you ask me if I was in the shoes of the coach I will do same by inviting Musa.Criteria for inviting a player to a team is mmulti faceted. If you are playing in the moon and have a bad attitude off the pitch no serious minded coach will invite you. The more reason an Henry Cantona will be dropped for a less fancied Thierry.
In 2006 world (stand corrected on the date ) David Bechamp formed an integral part of England team even though he was injured months before the world cup.He was inactive for months yet made the team not just for footballing reasons but cos of his influence on the team.
We must understand that aside the fact that Musa remains one of the most successful se players he also remains one of the most dedicated.Rohr has continually kept the chemistry of the team for relationship sake which I know will pay of one.
We should endeavour to understand and respect the selection of the team as he holds the right to so do.
