Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong says the team are not really scared of facing Lagos fans in today’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
The three-time AFCON champions will be playing their first competitive match in Lagos in 20 years and with less than 10,000 fans allowed into the stadium.
Recall that Nigeria have booked qualification to the bi-annual tournament after defeating the Squirrels of Benin 1-0 in Porto-Novo on Saturday.
However, in a chat with Punch, Troost-Ekong stated that they are ready to face the passionate Lagos fans and thrill them with good football.
“I’ve heard that the fans are passionate, that’s nice because hopefully we can feel their support. Anywhere you play where the fans are passionate, you want to give your 100 per cent. We are not scared; we just want to play good football for them,” Watford defender Troost-Ekong.
