The Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated their hosts Algeria 2-0 in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics qualifier – Second Round, first leg at the Stade Mustapha Tchaker, Bilda on Wednesday night, reports Completesports.com.
The African champions took the lead in the 15th minute after Algeria defender Ouadah put the ball into her own net.
Amarachi Okoronkwo doubled the advantage for the Super Falcons with her well struck long range effort in the 54th minute.
Thomas Dennerby’s ladies had more chances to double their advantage but were let down by their finishing.
The reverse fixture of the 2020 Olympics qualifier will hold at the Agege Stadium Lagos next week Tuesday.
The Super Falcons are bidding to make a return to the Olympic Games for the first time in 12 years.
