Foden Sets Sights On Quadruple

Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden insists they can win the quadruple after seeing off Newport in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Foden scored two goals as City defeated the Welsh outfit 4-1 to book their place in the quarter-finals, and the youngster says the squad is there to compete on four fronts.

City currently sit top of the Premier League and will play Schalke in the Champions League last 16 on Wednesday before taking on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

Winning all four is a tall order to say the least, but Foden believes it is possible. “Everything is going well at the moment and we can definitely win every competition but it is going to be difficult,” Foden told reporters.

“It’s a big squad and everyone wants to show the boss they can start. He rotates the squad a lot and he gives people a chance.”

Meanwhile, boss Pep Guardiola says he is just delighted to still be in all four competitions at this stage of the season.

“We will see in May and June how we do but it is important to be there in all competitions in February,” Guardiola said. “The result will be shown at the end and now we have to recover and prepare for our trip to Germany.”
