Brazil Maintain Dominance Over Ghana With Comfortable 3-0 Win In Friendly

Everton forward Richarlison scored twice as Brazil recorded a comfortable 3-0 win against the Black Stars of Ghana in a friendly in Le Havre, France, on Friday.

Brazil have now won all five meetings against Ghana since their first encounter in 1996 which the five-time World Cup champions emerged 8-2 victors.

Paris Saint-German skipper Marquinhos opened the scoring after nine minutes with a bullet header from a corner by Raphinha.

Richarlison extended the lead 19 minutes later with a pin-point first-time strike from the edge of the area into the bottom left corner.

He then added the third five minutes before halftime with a clever header from a free kick by Neymar.

The game saw the likes of Tariq Lamptey and Inaki Williams make their debut for Ghana after both players came on in the second half.

Up next for Ghana is another friendly this time against Nicaragua billed for Monday.

The four-time AFCON winners are drawn in Group H with Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay at this year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Meanwhile, Brazil will play Tunisia in Paris on Tuesday, their last game before their World Cup Group G opener against Serbia on 24 November.

And in other friendly games, 2022 World Cup-bound Cameroon lost 2-0 to Uzbekistan and another representative from Africa Morocco beat Chile 2-0.

where are my Ghanaro people lol…… Assuming Ghana drew today we for no hear word lol because i knew they could never have gotten a win against this Brazilian team lol. Let them keep dreaming of winning the World Cup lol. If them like they should go and beg the whole foreign born Ghanaian footballers they would still not qualify from the World Cup group . I don’t wish them well because t a typical Ghanaian is always wishing our team don’t do well so they can mock us so lemme laugh them too. If not for the useless and corrupt bastards we have as administrators normal normal Ghana no suppose dey see our back but na our useless administrators dey make mockery of our football. Na devil go punish all of them including picnic abi weytin be em yeye name sef

    • Boss, you should think about yourself oo. We lost to Brazil, yes, but again I like the fact that we are trying out new formations before the world cup proper, which is good. I don’t know if you realised we changed from a back 4 to 3 in the second half with Salisu playing on the left, amartey on the right and Djiku in the middle and Baba and later lamptey playing as wing backs. This 3-5-1-1 formation appeared more affective than the 4 back in the first half. I like what I saw in the second half and if we can improve on that we can make a statement in the world cup. This is a better test than playing Algeria team B

Lucky folks, whose heart was in pumping hard, shivering and throbbing in the rib cage for the 90 minutes they played us in Abuja.

Pretend all you like that that didnt happen. That’s your cup of tea. It happened you won by an outdated home and away goal rule, and we do admit that on the day all the luck in the world deserted us, our players didnt just take their chances.

No way we would have qualified with the technically bereft Eguavoeon and the corrupt Pinnick at the head of the technical team and administration respectively. We actually lost to you the day Eguaveon was appointed and not that fateful Saturday in Abuja. Even with Rohr, Ghana wouldn’t have escaped total annihilation.

But while we lick our wounds, you have to deal with your own impending calamity. Don’t raise your hope too high at this World Cup because a lot of people will jump from 4 storey buildings with the way Ghana will be exposed at the this WC.

I see the BStars fighting their opponents as usual. They are becoming notorious for violence. They went physical with the Gabonese players at the last AFCON . They also fought Brazilian players in yesterday’s match. We will see more of such violence in at the world.

Brazil’s defeat is a shadow of what to come in Qatar. Let those who will dream continue dreaming. Our hope as a continent at the this WC is in Senegal and not these Ayews and Inakis.

So why didn’t u scored us in Kumasi so that the away goals wldnt mattered in Abuja?  Y’all keep saying that, it was an away goal rule that eliminated u but didn’t Nigeria came to Kumasi to played the first leg?

U talking about violence right? What happens in Abuja and to the abiola staduim when Ghana eliminated u from the qualifiers? All hell broke loose and hooligans and thugs destroyed your own stadium resulting in the death of a Zambian caf official!

Ironically, the most shocking part of the whole scenario is that, none of these crooks and thugs were arrested or fined! None and it was really shocking to me as a Ghanaian!

If that shame had happened in ghana, I can bet u that most these hooligans wldve arrested and jailed by now!

Btw, Ghana has the best recording the wc btn the two nations!!

Ghana is going to the biggest HUMAN THEATER on this rock and guessed who is absent, the BABE EAGLES and the SALAD ON THE JOLLOF RICE is that, they were denied by Ghana!

        Continue to lick ur wounds!!

A guy from Ghana said that Ghana will surely win the World Cup “in his Dream.” No one in the world will beat the great Ghana Team this year “in his Dreams.”

  • Ako Amadi 2 years ago

All Africans must support Ghana at the World Cup. But they must wake up and not disgrace the continent in Qatar. It appears they’re eating Jollof and abusing Nigerisns instead of playing football.

    • I watched the match and it was an improved performance by the black stars in the second half but teams in the world cup will not be generous like the Brazilians.

Truth is they have already finished the work in the first half and were only trying out new players and formations in the second half.

The Ayew brothers were a complete liability to the team yesterday especially Dede. They were at fault for all the three goals the Ghana team conceded.Dede appear heavy, out of form.He was outjumped by the Brazilian player for the first goal,Then he failed to stop Neymar from laying that clinical pass to Richardlison for the third goal. His younger brother also lost Richardlison for the clinical header for the second goal.

Ghana must start thinking of life without them after the world cup.

Some of the players that started the match will lost their starting roles to the new foreign born players(salisu, Tariq,Inaki).Maybe with a partey and these new players starting with Dede on the bench the team will do much better.

Coach Addo approach to the game is also faulty. He should have studies the tapes of the matches between Brazil and Senegal, Brazil and Nigeria and see how an African team should play the Brazilians. You cannot match them skills for skills, you don’t allow them build from the back, you don’t allow them time on the ball. You don’t do zonal marking, but man to man marking using the African physicalism to great advantage with fast breaks capitalising on the slowness of Thiago Silva.

I wish them well and I hope we will see a better game against Nicaragua next Monday .

  • Ako Amadi 2 years ago

The Black Stars csnnot expect their opponents in Qatar to spare them like Brazil did today. The Black Stars must tighten up.

  • Hmm… This didn’t surprise me one bit.
They played against Brazil and I don’t even expect the score line to be 1-0 before. So 3-0 isn’t big deal, it’s normal.
Nigeria is the only country in Africa that can pull up that kind of surprise of beating any team in the world but the negative thing about Nigeria is that, Any team can also beat us.
    CAR, Madagascar on mind.
Nigeria is really making Ghana feel like Belgium or Germany  at this moment for qualifying ahead of us and this will be a big problem for them at the World Cup if they are not careful. Wish them well though but I can’t bet on Ghana against the world when I’m not stupid. I dey craze?

  • Ako Amadi 2 years ago

I really doubt if Ghana can do better in Qatar than what we saw last night. They’ve spent so much energy insulting Nigerians! Nigeria played a draw, 1 – 1 against Brazil in Singapore. Ghanaians have short memories. These Black Stars lack quality, simple!

  • Ndubest 2 years ago

You will make a statement by drawing or winning matches? The commentator mentioned that Ghana team improved in the second half by tightening their backline but he went on to say where will the goals come from. How will you do better when your top 9 scored only two historical goals last season in a single match. This season he hardly see game time in Roma and i cant remember how many years Jordan Ayew scored last. Get ready to defend for 90minutes in the world cup and any attempt to open the play you will be annihilated

    • All you haters here, pls go and analyse your useless super chickens team and leave the black stars alone. If we are annihilated na your problem. I beg allow us to enjoy our world cup. You can only watch on TV.

Ghana win World Cup? that’s a dream never to come through. Brazil slowed down in the second half, that’s why the scores remained 3.0.Self made shit, you found your voice again, your team would go nowhere, your black shit stars would collect wotowoto at the world Cup.

    • @Obest, stop fooling. We eliminated you wotowoto and you are pained. You cannot compare this black star team to your useless chickens who could only manage a draw against Algeria team B. Ghana also made changes in the second half which proved that the first half was used to experiment certain formations. This Brazil team will beat your useless chickens 10-0. If you are a proper team organise a game against Brazil or Belgium. History shows that Ghana has performed better than any African country in the world cup so shut up and wait patiently for the world cup proper

      • Watch. Nigeria vs Brazil 2919, 1-1. Nigeria even scored first. Same Brazilian coach, sane team, same friendly match. After your fluke qualification and impending first round elimination in Qatar, we’ll be soooo waiting for you at Afcon 2024. Enjoy.

Uzbekistan beat Cameroon yesterday. These are friendly matches not the world cup proper. The Ghana coach admitted he made mistakes and some players to me do not deserve to be in the team. Ghana improved so much in the second half not that Brazil slowed down. The Brazilians rather couldn’t cope with the midfield battle and started fighting. Moving on, I think Ghana has a lot of quality and they can build on what happened yesterday. They have a very positive chance to make it great at the world cup

  • Badge 2 years ago

It was a good test for Ghana yesterday. The from now will know who deserves to play and what formation to deploy. Ghana’s groups at the world cup is very manageable and like previous outings they will make it out of the groups. They can repeat their 2010 performance and this time round make it to the semis. New players gave good account of themselves, hope they will get Hudson Odoi to join them. The Kudus guy is a phenomenon. The Black Stars have a great potential, let’s support them

  • Top it 2 years ago

The right selection and formation will get the Black Stars to the top. There should not be any experiments in their games going forward. If they had approached the game like they did in the second half, it would have been a different story. Ghana knows how to play the word cup tournament than any other African country. Make us proud Ghana

  • Ghanaians were not lucky against Nigeria. The Black Stars beating Nigeria is normal to Ghanaians. It is not a big deal to them. The Black Stars are Nigeria’s nemesis. Ghanaians like it when they play Nigeria, they are very comfortable with it. The best African country in the world cup is Ghana. They will bring their best game in the tournament proper

    • John-I 2 years ago

Best African country at the World Cup is not Ghana. Caneroun reached World Cup quarterfinal in 1990, the first African country to achieve that. Senegal made it to World Cup quarterfinal in 2002, the second African country to achieve that. Ghana was third to make it in 2010. Cameroun beat Argentina (defending Champions) at the 1990 World Cup. Senegal beat France (the defending Champion) at 2002 World Cup. While Ghana beat unknown names like Czech, USA (2006) and Serbia and USA (2010). Ghana hasn’t beaten any World Cup big team. Ghana is lucky to reach quarterfinal of 2010 World Cup due to the fortunate route they took! Among all African teams, Nigeria played the best football in 1994, narrowly and painfully losing to Italy in the second round.

I support Ghana but they’re not the best African team at the World Cup. They’ve never beaten any European powerhouse or South American giant like Senagal and Cameroon did!

      • Ghana is the best African country at the world cup because they are the only African country who have gone past the first round twice. Ghana did it 2006,2010 and only failed to do it in 2014. This is Cameroon’s 8th appearance and they’ve only make it past the first round once

          • John-I 2 years ago

My brother, I was setting the records straight that Ghana is not the best team in Africa neither are they best performers at the Senior World Cup. Cameroun has done more internationally in grade-A football. Cameroun beat Argentina at 1990 World Cup (a team that had Diego Maradona) and also reached Confederation Cup final (the tournament Mark Vivien Foe died). Senegal beat France (defending Champions). Nigeria beat Spain at 1998 World Cup. How can Ghana be the best team after only beating USA and Czech? Ghana is a powerhouse in African football but certainly not the best. Facts say otherwise. I’m talking about Grade-A football, not underage competitions!

While you’re at it, also watch how we walloped Argentina 4-2 on our way to the 2018 World Cup. When it comes to anything on the world stage, Nigerians are fearless – compared to other sub Saharan African countries who’re usually timid and give unnecessary respect.

Friendly matches are not serious matches. It is mostly to try out new players and formations. In 2014 world Cup, Ghana drew 2-2 with Germany. Germany went on to trash Brazil 7-1 and eventually won the world Cup. The world cup is a whole new level and players give their best there.

      • Boost 2 years ago

This same 7 scoreline, Ghana trash Nigeria some before, I think that was even 7-0. Ghana remains the best African performer in the world cup. Beating Nigeria is not a big deal to Ghanaians. The Black Stars are now focusing on the world Cup not African cup

Since Nigerians are so pained by Ghana eliminated them from Qatar, let ur fake billionaires pay for a friendly match and they ll cry more lol

      • Seedorf 2 years ago

For the Jalco cup you mentioned, Nigeria won the trophy more than Ghana. Abeg, give us another tin.

This trophy was donated by Nigerian company Joe Allen & Co, hence the title; it was played for on eight occasions between Nigeria and Gold Coast (the current Ghana), the venue alternating between the two countries.

After the final edition in 1959, last winners Gold Coast kept the trophy. The tournament was then replaced by the Nkrumah Cup, featuring additional West African nations. Ghana vs Nigeria encounters were continued in the Azikiwe Cup from 1965 onwards.

Prior to the first edition of the Jalco Cup in 1951, a first (unofficial) match between Nigeria and Gold Coast was played in 1938 at King George V Stadium, Onikan grounds, with hosts Nigeria winning 3-1 ([Kea 12], which unfortunately does not specify the precise date of the match and curiously lists a final selection of 10 (ten) players for Nigeria).

        Year Winners             Venue
        1951 Nigeria             Nigeria
        1952  suspended          Gold Coast
        1953 Gold Coast          Gold Coast

        1958 Nigeria             Nigeria
        1959 Gold Coast          Gold Coast

        Number of Wins

        Nigeria    5  (1 shared)
        Gold Coast 4  (1 shared)

        Total Record

        Nigeria     8  4  1  3  19-18  9
        Gold Coast  8  3  1  4  18-19  7

What was Ghana’s ranking when they eliminated you from this world cup qualifies. This is Ghana’s 4th appearance at the world cup and they have superior record than almost the whole of Africa. Ghana beating Nigeria is no news, looking at how Ghana trash Nigeria 7-0, 5-2,5-1, 4-1 in the past. Italy could not qualify with all their good ranking. • Destano 2 years ago

Has Ghana ever won the Olympics no and they can never ever won it in their history.

  • To be honest, Ghana senior men’s team currently holds the bragging rights against Nigeria (Fact!), not because they defeated us in open play but because they were intelligent enough to take advantage of technicalities.

Mr Selfmade is right: why didn’t the Super Eagles score an away goal in Ghana? Nobody gets paid for incomplete work.

The time is not ripe for me to engage in banter with Ghanaians regarding senior men’s national team, the floor is currently theirs. Ghana is going to the World Cup up, Nigeria is not, Ghana is going to the Homebased Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria is not.

    That is the harsh reality.

So what is there for me to brag about? If you cannot shut out Ghana in Abuja or win penalties in front of your own fans then you and your fans deserve all the mockery that come your way.

However, football is (thankfully) more than just the Super Eagles and Black Stars these days. Next year is littered with no less than 3 international football tournaments for me to savour and brag about. Nigeria has mercifully yet ruthlessly knocked Ghana out of all next year’s age grade continental and global tournaments.

What the Super Falcons of Nigeria has achieved in Women’s football in Africa, all the Ghanian fans on this forum will have to wait at least TWENTY TWO YEARS to witness their Black Queens even attempt to come anywhere close to Nigeria in accolades.

The eagerly anticipated women’s world cup will kick off next year and I expect to have a wonderful time building up to it whilst Ghana and their women fans continue to lick their generational failure. Their will be ample opportunities for me to banter ahead of that tournament.

Even in the senior men’s game, as disappointing as the A and B Super Eagles teams have been in 2022, they have maintained respectable results against Ghana in open play. The Super Eagles A team drew 2 games whilst the Homebased Super Eagles won 1 and drew 1 in open play.

Mother Luck has been kind to Ghana leading their fans the merry in empty boasts. Well, not that empty considering the tournaments luck allowed them to participate in ahead of Nigeria.

Future NFF officials should never take Ghana with a pinch of salt. They may be a ragtag team of average, mediocre and poor players with an awful brand of football, but they will always make Nigeria pay for poor preparations, goalkeeper mistakes and inadequate concentration.

It is quite unfortunate that flamboyant players like Iwobi, Moffi, Ejuke, Simon and Iheanacho will be absent from the world cup only for Africa to parade the Ghanaian riff-raffs that were humiliated against Brazil and that we saw collapse and crumble in this year’s Afcon.

It just goes to show that good teams don’t always qualify for tournaments, good preparations do. Well done to Ghana for preparing well against Nigeria. They deserve their reward in that sense.

But at the World Cup, there will be nowhere left for the Black Stars to hide, the result against Brazil is just a precursor of what awaits them: very eloquent teams like Nigeria but this time, better prepared.

After the Qatar World Cup, my merriment will commence.

You can call Ghanaian players whatever names you want. They will still beat you wherever they meet you. Prepare for the African cup, Ghana Is preparing for the world Cup. Your so called world class players cannot beat Ghana. Watch Partey’s goal again and you will love it

      • Badge, I noticed you kept quiet about women’s football. Our Super Falcons have shut Ghanaian mouths up for another 22 years at least. Hahahah

        • Badge 2 years ago

You are in love with women’s football. Not my thing, I want even watch some Europeans men league because their standard of play is low

    • Partey’s goal was such a sweet strike actually. I applaud him for the technique which was aided by horrific goalkeeping even according to the neutral television commentator on the day. He did his homework well. Sadly our entire management team knew nothing about homework. They expected gra-gra to work against a well motivated albeit basic to decrepit Ghanaian team. Please enjoy the world cup and homebased Afcon, you deserve it.

For the records though, the 4 games between Nigeria and Ghana senior men’s team in 2022 ended in 2 draws and 1 win each (in open play) for both teams. But you have to give it to Ghana, they know how to utilize mediocre players to defeat more flamboyant teams who fail to prepare adequately.

The teams Ghana met at the Afcon in January were prepared. The Brazilian team that mutilated Ghana last week was prepared. The teams in Ghana’s world cup group will be…… prepared……

      Enjoy..

The Ghana team is more talented than the Nigerian team!

The Ghanaian team has players playing in more lucrative leagues in Europe than the Nigerian team and the Ghanaian team has players playing day in and day out in competitive leagues than the Nigerian team and the Ghanaian team is more expensive in terms of transfer purchases than the Nigerian team and I can present the facts here

This is the list of Ghanaian players and their respective clubs

Goalkeepers: Joseph Wollacott (Swindon Town), Abdul Manaf Nurudeen (Eupen), Richard Ofori (Orlando Pirates), Lawrence Ati Zigi (St. Gallen) Defenders: Andy Yiadom (Reading FC), Dennis Korsah (Hearts of Oak), Gideon Mensah (Girondins Bordeaux), Daniel Amartey (Leicester City), Alexander Djiku (Strasbourg FC), Joseph Aidoo (Celta Vigo), Dennis Odoi (Fulham), Abdul Mumin (Vitoria Guimaraes), Montari Kamaheni (Ashdod FC) Midfielders: Baba Iddrissu (Real Mallorca), Edmund Addo (Sherif Tiraspol), Thomas Teye Partey (Arsenal FC), Mohammed Kudus (Ajax Amsterdam), Daniel Kofi Kyere (St. Pauli), Elisha Owusu (Gent) Wingers: Osman Bukari (Nantes), Joseph Paintsil (Genk), Abdul Fatawu Issahaku (Sporting Lisbon), Christopher Antwi Adjei (Bochum), Yaw Yeboah (Columbus Crew) Forwards: Christopher Antwi Adjei (Bochum), Felix Afena Gyan (AS Roma), Kwasi Wriedt(Holstein Kiel), Jordan Ayew (Crystal Palace) Read more: https://sportsbrief.com/football/ghana-black-stars/13721-ghana-announces-squad-to-face-nigeria-world-cup-blockbutser/

If u compared the two lists, Nigeria players are playing in average leagues!! The Ghanaian squad is full of players playing in more competitive leagues than Nigeria!

        Can u challenge this assertion!

      • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

U can’t compare WATFORD, rangers and even Napoli to AS ROMA  or ARSENAL!!

      • Selfie, I want to believe that Nigeria has more household names in the Super Eagles than Ghana does in the Black Stars.

I stand to be corrected though.

        • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

Not true bro…. The Nigeria squad has no player playing in any ILLUSTRIOUS, accomplished club!

They are all playing in mid table clubs as compare to Ghana which has players playing in illustrious, cup winning clubs

The likes of ARSENAL, AS ROMA, AJAX and LECEISTER whiles most of the Nigerian players are playing in Cyprus and Scotland…..

There’s no household name in the NIGERIAN squad than THOMAS PARTEY….

Osimehn is not an household name in the world even talked of AFRICA and even JORDAN AYEW is even more known than osimehn!!

None of the Nigerian players that played in the qualifiers is more known than PARTEY!

All the Nigerian noise was unnecessary hype!

        • But you would say that, Selfie.

There is a reason why many neutral media outlets all over the world saw Ghana’s world cup qualification over Nigeria as “an upset”. Even very many ordinary Ghanaians also saw it as an upset.

Why? Because the Super Eagles is a far superior brand with MORE high profile players than Ghana’s Black Stars in world football at the moment.

This is incontrovertible, however you might want to spin it. It is not to Ghana doesn’t have a modicum of recognised names like the Ayews, Partey and arguably Amattey.

Just take a look at the headline in the link below.

          https://sports.ndtv.com/football/partey-strikes-as-ghana-upset-nigeria-to-reach-fifa-world-cup-2851203

          • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

It was an upset because of the AFCON DISASTER…..

Rightly so because why would a nation beaten blue and black by Comoros in the afcon be able to eliminate a NIGERIAN team that took the afcon by storm during the group stages?

It was a tall order and Ghana was the underdogs against Nigeria based on previous performances but not PLAYERS!!

          • Selfie, even going by your logic, PLAYERS delivered those previous yet recent PERFORMANCES. This, even by your own logic, puts Nigerian players far ahead and “far better (LOL)” than Ghanaian players. 🙂

        • By the way Selfie, which team prevented Ghana’s Women from qualifying for the Women’s World Cup?

When will Ghana ever taste the sweet victory of gold in Women’s Africa Cup of Nations?

When will Ghana step foot on the next Women’s World Cup since 2007?

When will Ghana go beyond the group stages of the Women’s World Cup?

          Hahahaha!
          🙂

        • Selfie, I see you continue to dodge the issue of Women football? Are you ashamed or afraid to broach the topic or both?
          🙂

@Deo, you my guy need to chill out ah ah! Abi na you be the first civilised or the only civilised one on this site?
I know it shows decorum to stay out the gutter even when you’re having to deal with gutter rejects but still, you my friend are taking it to unacceptable levels – levels where you are almost incentivising these knuckleheads to rare up here with their empty vitriol, Nna abeg were tired of reading their noise joor, Please bro if you must be so nice to these imbeciles then at least be worthy of the position you’re taking because If you can say things like Ghana senior men hold bragg….WHICH BRAGGING RIGHTS!?? Is it because you say so? I don’t want to buddy but I must question your reasoning mehn!

So Ghana hold bragging rights according to you ba? Okay, so what are we talking about here?

Please correct me if I am wrong but are we not talking about excellence in the field of sports which requires physical excellence, skill, Intelligence etc abi?
      Are you still in agreement?
Therefore then your statement is short-sighted at the very least because it’s not even as if Ghana are OBVIOUSLY better than Nigeria the way you would compare Brazil to say Costa Rica for example- NO!, it’s at best much more closer than that,

Go around the rest of the world- Leave out our opinions on here both yours and the Ghanaians and mine and all Nigerians even self, and ask a totality of all the other people/nations in the world who are not Nigerian or Ghanaian who is the bigger FOOTBALLING nation out of the 2 and you already know what the answer will be, but if you don’t I can tell you and it won’t begin with a G.
So why you are here conceding any ground to these lame ducks is extremely baffling to say the least – One is almost forced to think that maybe you are somewhat compromised because you keep pussyfooting around these blackboards

Now on to my other and even more IMPORTANT point – Football is a sport , where skill and ability and speed and strength and intelligence and all these attributes count, and while it’s a very important sport due to it’s global appeal and massive following, it is still debatable as to whether it is the most important sport or the most appreciated or the biggest or best even of all, Simply because that is an opinion that will defer from person to person and region to region, era to era and with so many other variables to factor in as well, In the world of sport there are very many other Worthy and Noble examples that people the world over follow as much or even more than football – Boxing- World Champions
Athletics / Track & Field – World Champions / Olympic Medallists, Gold etc
      Basketball(ers) – World ratings, levels, visibility/recognition
MMA/Cage fighting – World ratings and recognition
Beach Footie/ Volleyball – World levels
I could go on all night @Deo,

I really could, but my point is what about all these other Great Sporting Feats and World renowned Sporting Activities?- where is your Ghana / Nigeria comparison now?? EHN?
Think again, and now tell me who REALLY HAS THE BRAGGING RIGHTS?

Abi are we not talking about Sports and who should have BRAGGING RIGHTS??

Deo, If it’s BRAGGING RIGHTS then your statement falls flat on its face just looking at even a snippet of ACTUAL FACTUAL & HISTORICAL INFORMATION around Sport in general

Please brother, stop encouraging the gormless riff-raff, Na beg we dey beg you!

I really hope you understand the drift of this message – I mean no disrespect to you yourself o!

However – you this thing have been warned! I have not addressed this animal and everyone reading can see, my message was for one ofd my Nigerian brothrrs before this uncout inbred animal started to throw abuse so-
I cannot say much but all watching can see exactly what has happened this time.
Now tell me Am I wrong? Am I wicked?

        • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 2 years ago

Ignatius bro, leave that animal alone, He will self destruct ASAP! lol

    • Field Marshal John, thanks for your message. You see, what I wrote up there has “scope”. Your response widely exceeds the scope of my argument.

The entire length and breadth of my statement above suggests that Ghana’s Senior Men’s Football team (only) has the bragging rights over their Nigerian counterparts simply because of their favourable results in 2022.

      These are:

      1) 2022 World Cup Qualification.
      2) 2023 Chan Qualification.

Trust me, losing out on those two senior men’s tournaments to Ghana (our biggest rivals) was and remains very painful. That gives Ghana the bragging rights at some level.

But a lot of what you wrote about Nigeria’s sporting achievements vis a vis was very compelling but they just sit well outside the scope of my argument (if you understand)

I wanted Nigeria to be in Qatar World Cup, Ghana will be there instead.

I wanted Nigeria to be in Algeria Homebased Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana will be there instead.

For that, Ghana have the bragging rights within the scope of participation in these two tournaments. Harsh but true.

The Super Eagles have to work hard to redress the balance in the next four years.

      • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 2 years ago

        @Deo-
your diplomacy is top notch my guy and kudos to you for that but please remember who you are and who your opponent/enemy is at all times – Deo you exhibit a decent level of smarts- but which is often symptomatic of naivety, I will explain myself
As an intelligent person, you should not only know yourself but also your adversary because if you do not then you are defeating any advantage you may have – This is what is happening here-
YES YOU ARE INTELLIGENT AND VERY CONSIDERED IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND THEIR DELIVERY BUT THE SAME CANNOT BE SAID ABOUT THAT IMBECILIC GHANIAN – SO FOR YOU TO BE CONCEDING ANY GROUND IS LIKE THROWING YOUR DIAMONDS AND FINE GARMENTS TO PIGS- THEY WILL NOT, CANNOT APPRECIATE THAT LEVEL OF QUALITY OR FINESSE BECAUSE IT’S NOT JUST IN THEIR MAKE-UP. THEY HAVE NO ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND GREGARIOUSNESS OR DECORUM IN DEBATES OR EVEN IN THEIR MAINSTAY WHICH IS WHAT THEY COME FIRST IN AND THAT IS MINDLESS MORONIC SENSELESS ARGUMENTS!
IF YOU ARGUE WITH A DOG, YOU WILL SPEAK A LOT OF SENSE AND THE DOG WILL ONLY BARK BACK BECAUSE THAT IS THE LIMIT OF HIS ABILITIES, NOW IF YOU SEE THIS BUT YOU STILL CONTINUE TO ARGUE WITH THE ANIMAL, EVEN TRYING TO APPEASE HIS INTELLECT SO YOU CAN ENGENDER SOME MORE AND BETTER OPPORTUNITIES FOR DISCOURSE – IT WONT WORK AND BEFORE LONG, YOU YOURSELF WILL START LOOKING LIKE THAT ANIMAL YOURSELF BECAUSE IT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND WHY YOU HAVE NOT RECOGNISED THE FUTILITY IN TRYING TO MAKE ANY SENSE OUT OF THAT HOPELESS RABBLE
YES WE (HUMANS) CAN SEE WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO DO BUT THE DOG??
THE DOG WILL ALWAYS AND ONLY BE A DOG – HE HAS NO SCOPE OUT OF HIS DILEMMA, SO AGAIN, I THANK YOU FOR YOUR CIVIL REPLY BUT i AM AFRAID THAT USING THE FACT THAT MY RESPONSE IS OUT OF SCOPE – MAKES SENSE IN MANY WAYS BUT IN FACT AND IN THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE IT IS NOT – SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU ARE DEALING WITH VERY THICK HIGHLY UNEDUCATED IMBECILES WHO HAVE HATRED IN THEIR HEARTS WHICH WILL CONSUME THEM AND WHICH GUARANTEES THAT NOTHING GOOD EVER COMES FROM OR TO THEM.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND ME, I HAVE NEVER ADDRESSED YOU BEFORE BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE READ WHAT YOU’VE WRITTEN, I HAVE NEVER FELT A NEED TO SAY ANYTHING BACK IN RESPONSE AND HAVE MOSTLY AGREED, AND I WOULD HAVE CONTINUED TO DO SO IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE WAY YOU SEEM TO BE ALLOWING THOSE JEALOUS BASTARDS COME HERE AND SPOIL OUR FUN.

PLEASE STOP ADDRESSING THEM LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN DOING, IT IS ENCOURAGING THEIR NONSENSE AND IN A WAY IT’S NOT FAIR ON US (THE REST OF THE NIGERIANS) READING HERE BECAUSE IT’S ALMOST AS IF WE ARE BEING SUBJECT TO THESE ABOMINATIONS BECAUSE OF THE CONDUCIVE ATMOSPHERE BEING CREATED HERE BY THE WAY YOU AND ONLY YOU ADDRESS THEM – THEY ABUSE AND

How many times have Cameroon been to the world Cup and how many times have they gotten to the knockouts. Ghana has the best record in the world cup with 3 appearances 2 knockout stages with one quarter final play

    • Edoman 2 years ago

On current form, Ghana is not going anywhere. come-on, Brazil just roasted Ghana in a friendly match to test what they have got. How is Ghana got to play Uruguay and Portugal and even South Korea and win? Ghana will come home after the 3 matches.

    • Papafem 2 years ago

Truth is Ghana’s performance at the World Cup has added no value to the continent. The real VIPs here are Nigeria and Cameroon.

Cameroon’s performance at 1990 WC increased the continent’s slot at FIFA WC to three. It used to be just 2 before then. Nigeria and Morocco were the first beneficiaries of Cameroon’s Italia 90 performance with our participation at USA 94.

Nigeria’s performance at USA encouraged FIFA to increase Africa’s slot to 5. Ghana benefitted from that in 2006 and in other two editinos. They will still benefit from it in Qatar.

Without any doubt, the increased number of slots given to Africa via the performances of these two countries definitely increased the chances of Ghana and other notable countries on the continent to qualify. So, Ghana should be grateful and stop making noise up and down.

No ideal, football oriented, highly patriotic Nigerian will support Ghana in any competition because they won’t support us either. They would rather turn Nigeria to a butt of joke on the social media anytime we fall at any major championship and give us names like they did in 2006.

I’m a proud Nigerian and feircely patriotic. And as a lover of the round leather game, I get hurt when we dont do well at any competition and even more hurt when anyone robs salt into that injury. And since Ghana does this to us from time to time, even without prococation, it will be difficult to support them at any level, in any competition, because even if I did support them and they succeed, they wil still rob it on our face.

So its Cameroon and Senegal for at Qatar 2022 and not Ghana.

      • Fetch 2 years ago

So Nigeria has never gotten to the quarter finals before. Then Ghana has superior record, they got to the quarter finals in their second appearance and they will make it to the semis in Qatar. Support the Black Stars

All that u wrote is lied without any facts to backed up ur concerted lies!

In fact, Ghana was the first African nations to urged the entire continent to boycott the 1966 wc and the chief instigator was dr kwame Nkrumah

When Ghana boycotted the 1966 wc, it lead to AFRICA inclusion! Most of these Nigerians bloggers are very shallow and knows little about africs history

I feel so pity for u because u just keeping on showing ur ignorance here but THE KING LL CONTINUE TO TEACH till u humble urself

U can continue to lie here and give credits to Tunisia but the historical books are there for posterity

U can also read this article to educate urself ….

It wasn’t any Tunisia, Cameroon or Nigeria that started this movement but rather the very nation that u talked shit about which is GHANA!!

        We ll always lead u!!

  • @Papafem, I agree with some of the points you made above. Ghana and some other African countries have indeed benefitted from Nigeria’s performance at USA’94.
However, it is not only Nigeria and Cameroun that deserve the plaudits.
It is actually Tunisia that deserve the most plaudits for their earth-shattering performance at the 1978 World Cup in Argentina that has African football fans dancing in African cities. It was their performance in that tournament that got Africa rewarded with two spots from which Cameroun benefited in 1982.
Algeria was also humongous in projecting Africa’s image at the World Cup. Its 2-1 defeat of West Germany in their opening group match at Espana’82, still regarded by FIFA as one of the two biggest upsets in World Cup history. Some of the West German players threatened to commit suicide after the match.
Morocco also raised Africa’s status significantly with its out-of-this world performance in Mexico in 1986. Check out the group the Moroccans won in that tournament.
So, to be fair it’s Tunisia that led the way for the rest of Africa. If you truly understand how poorly African football was thought of around the world before Tunisia’s epic performance in 1978, you will agree with me that Tunisia deserve the most accolade.
    I’m still rooting for Ghana.

    • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

It wasn’t any performances by any team that pushed fifa to increased the slots!! As matter of fact, Ghana and a few AFRICA nations started boycotting the Olympics and other international competitions because of the unfair treatments melted out to AFRICA teams and hence the increased in slot!!

      Stop with the lies ….

The push for increase slot for Africans started way back in 1966 and Ghana was even significant in this push!! Is funny how y’all don’t know ur histories!!

GHANA STARTED THIS MOVEMENT FOR AFRICA!

  • What are these 4 Ghanaians – Self Made Moron, Yawning Idiot, Fetch the Stick, and Top the Banku – still doing here?

I don’t know why Ghanaians always argue blindly over bare facts??? You tire everyone. Go outside Africa, ask any Westerner, when it comes to anything on or from the continent, names they know are Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt and South Africa – football or otherwise. They barely recall smallies like Ghana or others.

But it’s only Ghana always doing gra grab and trying to punch above their weight and size. Other smallies like Bebin, Togo, Guinea are humble, but Ghana, no.

Maybe it’s cos they speak English like us (even though they pronounce everything as ‘a’ – as in Sam, or as ‘e’ as in bed). So, they think we’re mates and should be foaming from the mouth in useless arguments.

Even if you’re deaf, don’t you have eyes to look at the map of west Africa? Don’t you always need a microscope to spot Ghana? But Nigeria hits you dominantly in the face.

Baba, go and sit down. From economics, to sports to music to education to areas, number of capital/major cities and spread of development to global influence and recognition, we’re in different worlds. Go and argue with the Gambia, Benin, and Togo.

    • By the way, did anyone notice the horrible mishmash of red, yellow and other shades Ghana called jersey in the humbling practice match against Brazil?

Like who designed it? A corner store Kumasi tailor? But I understand as per Ghana is not even sure what to adopt as national color (like the world knows Nigeria is a simple and mature green and white).

For Ghana, it’s always a riot of colors. They don’t know whether to adopt yellow, red, white, or darkness (as per Dark Stars – cos a star is never black).

      • @Kel, your jersey wey make like cocoyam leaves sef you dey wear am. Make we hear word!

    • @Kel stop fooling yourself. Of course Nigeria is known in the world for yahoo yahoo, 419, armed robbery, terrorism etc. Yes, ghana will always punch above our weight because your Nigeria is big for nothing. His not aggressive again and he play big man football. He feel too big among other players. No body can correct his mistake. Ghana coach need to do something about it

    • @Chibuike, Andre is far better that most of the players in your team. How can any team which wants to go to the world cup still have Ahmed Musa? You turn around and want to criticise someone. Make you think about yourself. We like our Ayew, make una take una Musa.

  • Nigerians here Supporting Mumu Banku stars you will be the first to cry from the noise pollution these uneducated Gate crashing embisiles will descend on CSN if the unfortunate case of Banku Stars doing well in Qatar imagine no sane human will want one of their biggest rivals to make history before them. I mean do we really want these abusive Ghanaian’s to Achieve Semi- finals before Nigeria at these upcoming world Cup games which Nigeria did nor qualify for? I mean make una reason well o. A word is enough for the wise

Hate is a disease! By the way, ur NIGERIAN education is inferior to the Ghanaian education!

Most of ur brothers and sisters are receiving QUALITY education in ghana paying TOP dollars and that should tell u something!!

jealously is WITCHCRAFT and maybe u are one because of this mean comment lol

U don’t have to fly in the night to be a witch as common jealously like the one u have is A FAMILIAR SPIRIT lol

  • This endless tirades on both sides need to stop as it does not one any good.

Ghana has won the tickets to both the world cup and CHAN.We say congratulations to them.Let us allow them time, space and peace to prepare for the competition. No amount of polemics from Nigerians can change that fact.

At the same time, the Ghanaian should celebrate their recent victories over Nigeria and learn to leave Nigerians alone to figure out the way forward for their senior football.

There are no hard feelings.I hope this finally put to rest the cross salvos on both sides. It is only a game of football gentleman. There are countless other areas where both countries share cultural, bilateral and diplomatic ties.

    @TONI
EITHER YOU ARE ANOTHER HOPELESS GHAN OR YOU ARE A VERY NAIVE NIGERIAN – EITHER WAY, YOUR STATEMENT IS VERY ANNOYING AND SIMPLISTIC TO THE POINT OF MISCHIEVIOUS – IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENOING AND ARE BOTHERED ENOUGH TO COMMENT THEN AT LEAST BE BOTHERED TO RESEARCH THE ISSUE BEFORE WADING IN WITH YOUR HOLIER THAN THOU ATTITUDE – PLEASE PLAY YOUR POSITION WITH INTEGRITY AND DON’T COME HERE JUST THROWING ACCUSATIONS ABOUT WILLY NILLY MY FRIEND!
LISTEN TO WHAT IWUNZE SAID (ABOVE) IT’S NO JOKE!

    • @Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob don’t mind them forming peace makers, God forbid if these Ghanaians actually make something of their Lucky qualification and shockingly produce a good performance in QATAR by the time @YAW, @Selfmade and co make them regret this their united peace treaty stance and “so called” mumu brotherly love it will be too late by that time they will have no way to hide their head in shame and embarrassment from all the gloating and boasting these fools will finish us with. However I am not worried personally because after i saw the one sided nature of the Brazil game I was filled with overjoy and satisfaction because that Banku stars are below average team albeit not that I expected much from a average team like BANKU STARS.

@NDI SUPPORT GHANA I POSE A QUESTION TO YOU WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WANTS ONE OF THEIR BIGGEST RIVALS TO PERFORM AMD MAKE HISTORY BEFORE THEM?. ESPECIALLY A NOISY ONE LIKE GHANA?

      • Kwasiakwa! How did a below average team bundle you out of the world cup? What is your team then? If you eat 1000kg of banku you are not going to the world cup, Brazil can beat us 10-0, who cares? Jealous piece of shit!

@Self made Mango tree, you were absent from this platform for a long time because the curses placed on you by @Field Marshall shook you to the core. After visiting herbalists in Kumasi, you recovered. You have been warned several times to stop coming here. Begone, leave, vamoose or else.
My wife is Ghanaian and she won Miss Asanti Kotoko. Who knows your wife? Go and hug a wet transformer.

Let’s all support Ghana to victory, even if they always and like beating Nigeria. At the world stage, they win for Africa. Black Stars!!!!
